I bought an Infiniti G37x about two weeks ago to replace my beater Buick. I have had beaters pretty much my entire life and while I don't mind wrenching, at the end of the day it's still a beater. My work has treated me well that I was able to save a little and I bought this cash. It's a 2009 with 71k on the clock but you could never tell. I did buy it from a dealership after many failed attempts from private sellers, but I feel the agreed price was quite fair. Since I payed cash and they weren't going to make money off financing, the salesman was honest and told me it was the end of the month and the car was on the lot for a while, they needed it gone.
The car is fully loaded with the exception of GPS and backup camera. I picked this car for a few reasons. First, I am a Nissan fanboy having four 240sx's and currently owing my highly modified one. Second, I needed some space. I am 6'6" and 250lbs, not exactly small. The coupe was definitely more of a snug fit and with the sun roof which I wanted, it was a no go. I also occasionally haul around the big wigs from work, I used to borrow cars for that but they pay me well to not look like look like someone who drives a beater.
The car is pretty quick. I decided that I will not buy a car slower than the beater Buick with headers, smaller pulley and a tune; I would guess somewhere around 14.50 in the quarter. The G according to magazines in 13.50. It definitely lacks the torque of the GS, but top end is much stronger.
I already pulled the steering wheel and replaced the trim. What a pita to replace a junk trim piece. Also a bonus pic of the 240.
