This was a great episode!

I cant wait to watch it again lol

It's out Top_Gear.9x03.WS_PDTV_XviD-FoV

Cant wait to see this episode :D Sounds great so far ;)
BTW.
Has anybody see some link to the *** of this episode ?? I cant control myself anymore:( Love top gear too much :D
THX in advance

It looks like I am the only Brit who was a little uncomfortable with the level of anti-Americanism in the episode. A few jokes at the expense of any other nation is humorous, but this was way over the top. This was pure hatred.

Top Gear seemed to start from a position of wanting to find the most unflattering view of America possible. They succeeded. This will genuinely hurt the US tourist industry.

Re: Alabama and Freedom of Speech

Everyone seems to outraged that the 'Red-necks' reacted the way they did. What about 'Freedom of Speech' everybody cries. How about Brits try to drive through Brixton in a car draped with BNP flags and banners. This is exactly the same 'red rag to a bull' situation. Freedom of speech has limits.

Anyway.........Back to normal next week.

exactly

i made the joke " you need a passport to get into bradford" ... oh that went down well with the pakistani guy in the office.

you can say what you like, in the right company is what it boils down to

It's not quite the same. It would be more like going through Brixton with a banner saying R n' B sucks or something similar. If they had gone through with a banner saying "All Hillbillys die" then it would be similar.
There was absolutely nothing offensive written on the cars.

it was funny, a bit anti-american,

But i'm NOT comfortable with the way they treated the dead animals.

Even a dead animal deserves a bit of respect in my point of view!

@otispunkmeyer

I know what you're saying.

I used to live in various shit-holes of London from Brixton to Brent Cross. There is a definate pack mentality amongst teenagers where any whiff of fear is quickly acted on.

I lost count of the times I was lucky I'm a 6-foot rugby forward but I knew that it would only be a matter of time before my size was negated by a sharp object.

I got the hell out of London three years ago and don't miss it one bit.

Stay safe ;)

but if there was say a chav or a benfit sponging immigrant in the group then id be met with some physical resistance for sure.

first, let me be the first to say ...

SMOGGIE!!!!!!!

:p

also the word charv has an r in, I'm sorry I had to say it, but your from god's country, please don't lower yourself to the southerner's levels :p

But yeah, middlesbrough is a strange place.... Like las vegas without the glamour or casinos or tourists. Still... I come from sunderland so what can I say?

Not entirely true....

To some, NASCAR probably is a religion in the same way that millions attend the Church of Football every weekend.

And I'm pretty sure a Jamaican would take offence to someone driving around Kingston with 'reggae [or Bob Marley] sucks' painted on the side of the car.

With the animals as i said before, Jeremy did pick up the torotise and move it out of the road, which is fair play. The squirrel, they legitimatly found dead already with the intention of eating it. If Jeremy did find the cow (i have a feeling thats gonna be a huge debate over the legitimacy of it) again they did intend to eat it.

As for the Alabama, I think anyone who reacts like they did takes life too seriously and needs to relax a little. I mean my MX5 gets a few hairdressers and gay comments (no i'm not gay before the comments start:p ) but i don't go around geting a gang of idiots to beat them up. Talk about a total overreaction from the Alabama

Come to think of it, it's scary that people like that can buy a car let alone a gun.

also
JC 'I've just decided i've got plenty of fuel' wheelspins off lmao at that as well

Your kidding right?
Do you think the same thing when you are pulling apart your KFC? or do you think about about how your leg of lamb feels when it is getting transported while it is living just b4 you tuck in?. Or a carcas of a pig is stung up then chopped up?.

Good episode, I really didn't think the American bashing was that bad in it, I think most of the yanks on this board are intelligent enough to know it was a good natured laugh.
I can't really say a bad thing about the whole hour, I do love these road trips, the cow part was pure genius.
I do think this may explain why JC was so Anti on TGTBTU, did they shoot that DVD after the road trip?

To the person who thinks it will damage the USA's tourism.. I really don't think so. People who use top gear as their guide to the world will probably never leave the UK in the first place. I for one will still be going, but probably not Florida simple because it always looked a bit dull and bloody hot.

You certainly wouldn't get on with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. Or Ray Mears.

The thing is, those slogans could be used anywhere to get you shot. For instance, driving with anti-celtics or pro rangers slogans in the celtics area of Glasgow and vice versa like i mentioned earlier.

used cars are slightly different from new ones - they have a hell of an excuse.

If you are ever in the Chicago area, let me know! I'll buy you a pint. :)
