There was a different feel to it - I can't define it. It wasn;t better or worse than preceding episodes, but different.

Oh - if Mr Wilman is reading: no more of that very dark filter or whatever (I don't pretend to be an expert ;)) on the 430 Scuderia test - I see why it was done like that, but too shadowy: excessive chiaroscuro.

What cars did they use for the police challenge? I doubt that there are going to be any crown vics, but it would be great if someone told me.

lol The Dave references where funny.
The police segment was great, Couldn't stop Laughing.

But yeah, the episode felt a bit weird/strange. I don't know why. But it was fantastic.

I agree about the Stars, there really quite annoying

Had to be some porn from the interweb. Nice gag!
News Uncut! News Uncut!

Oh lord, when Hammond appeared in his "police car" I completely pissed myself. Classic! :)
I assure you you were not the only one. It looked like something from a Village People video. Still, there's a good reason why it might be effective - if you were a criminal and you were pissing yourself laughing every time that turned up, how many arrests do you think you'd evade?

Worst. Guests. Ever.
I'd never heard of them before, and I can't say it's any great loss.

Sorry, was on a train- who were the guests? Anyone please give us a quick brief? Please

I thought that episode was brilliant, there best in along time! I havent laughed at Top Gear like that in ages!

Jeremy: "I think somethings happened to the handling"

He did a good paint job on that Fiat too!

Well. All in all, a great episode :) But:

worst guests they EVER had.

The Stuntman remembered of some old-style top gear, jumping limos over wedding setups and ice-cream vans over bouncy castles... stupid but fun :)

The F430 was a typical JC review - lots of sliding, and jeremy talking about the car a lot and changing his opinion on it while in process.

The police cars were hilarious, but somehow too short - at least so it seemed to me, in comparison to <100 pound cars and the vans.

Btw: in the beginning (first 15 min), I thought there was a bit too much Clarkson (he kept on rattling and the others almost said nothing, don't you agree?)
I Agree. Looking at Hammond and May's faces it seemed to me that it was not entirely planned to happen like that. I got the impression that Clarkson was a bit nervous. Well I can't blame him :).

Great Episode. They tend to save the bigger things for later episodes, so that should be good ;D.

Was it just me or did you think the editing wasn't up to scratch?

There were a couple of times I noticed segments and different camera angles/scenes were linked at very poor standards... not up to BBC's usualy high quality production!

I disagree; it was great that he made the point that it is NOT what the car is, it is how you DRIVE it. I can get 30 mpg out of my porky WRX, which is rated at 20/27.
The point he made was very good, I just found him overtalking a bit (the others were blanked out a bit)

Thought the guests were pretty annoying. I've got nothing against gay people, but some of them are just too proud to be gay. The same with people who are really fat and are 'proud of their body'. Glad they feel good, but I really don't need to see it.
I usually love british humor (i.e. top gear of monty python), but this Alan wasn't subtle enough, to me ;)

Ah... I wanted to add this to my previous post, didn't work out.

I don't think it's how you drive it. My parents sold their BMW because it did (sorry for you english guys, I have to do this metric) 1 liter on 12 kilometres, driven economically. They now drive an old Daihatsu we bought for 60 pounds (not kidding). Still driving economically. They now do 1 liter on 17 kilometres. I mean... It does make a difference.
It's just crap that the prius is in no way economical. Any regular Diesel engine up to 3 litres will do better :S

Some good giggles at the beginning, Scuderia bored the pants off me, Stunt Man (anyone know who he is with the fake beer gut in his overalls?) was a bit random and unnecessary, guests were boring, and the Cheap Cop Car challenge was a little forced (JC got THAT paint job on the Fiat Coupe for less than ?500? I doubt it.) All in all a pretty average start - I can only hope things get better from here on in, but the Season 10 opener wasn't the best so there's hope for it yet. The season preview showed quite a bit of potential, but then so do movie trailers and the film can still turn out to be shite!

That was a great episode. I like the Stunt Man segment, I think he's just going to crash every week
I wish they would scrap the SIARPC it's really boring and the guests are rarely very interesting (Michael Gambon is the exception ofcourse).

The police car chase was very funny and not too over the top.

The preview for the rest of the series also looked amazing, I can't wait to see the bullet train and the stuff they are doing with the skier.

I really enjoyed the first bits. The upcoming preview was cool, and the MPG tests were fun in their own way.

The Scuderia was a good solid car review - just what I wanted. That was satisfying.

The Stars in Reasonably Priced Car were really really annoying. I just wanted that to end - they were so irritable.

Police bit was good, one of the better challenges.

They used their imagination a bit. The stuntman thingy was a bit dumb but good fun - James really made that one. If anyone else did it that would have been rubbish.

Hey Quiky or Viper, may we have a poll for this thread to rate the episode?
