If I attended the game I would have had no problems avoiding meat; it's the fasting that would get me. Speaking of abstaining, Gallardo must have abstained from decent pitching in the home opener. I would have bitched more about the game but then the Brewers announced Bob Uecker's son passed away.
 
Despite two bullpen meltdowns in a row from the Cubs, I'm thrilled baseball's back. I spent all day watching all the games I could. :D

Cespedes is for real... 3 HRs in the last three games.

Take 1991 for example...if there was a Wild Card then and the divisional champs were the Blue Jays and Twins and then the wild card teams were the Red Sox and White Sox....I'd be fine with that. Funny story about 1991, the Pirates had the best record in baseball.
 
Yeah, but making the playoffs is making the playoffs. Why hope for a WC spot and not a division championship?

For the record: I've now purchased at least one pack of baseball cards per season from 1989 till the present. First pack had a Griffey Jr. rookie card that I have to this day. This latest pack, Topps 2012 series 1, includes the piece of shit John Lackey and World Series MVP David Freese.

Post 'em up, I'd love to see them. I used to spend a lot more money on baseball cards than I do now... I'll spend about $100 here and there over the summer. I do a lot of my household shopping at a local Target that has a pretty robust trading card section.
