Brilliant episode. One thing people missed in the insurance section was the toy car and caravan. Spotted The Stig, but missed the photocopier, and Will Young, and the whitening kit, lol. Loved Hammond's "No crashes in the last 5 years, no"

I agree that Fry didn't look himself, and appeared different to usual, however, when he spoke he seemed OK.

Also laughed hard at the first mention of the "touched inappropriately" after reading the news story on here, and them then discussing it.

I'm sure there is other stuff that i have already forgot about, a few more watches are needed.

Oh yeah, just one last thing, when Jeremy was talking about the Volvo safety, i couldn't help but be reminded of Fifth Gears Old Volvo v New Modus crash test, where the Volvo didn't do well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3ygYUYia9I

For the person who wanted a ?1500 budget, it just wouldn't be possible to get a car and insurance for that price.

That was me, and it would be. Sure you wouldn't be able to have any of their cars, but you could possibly still get something nice. You would just have to sacrifice physical and engine size and get something like a Polo or Clio, but choosing a nice car at that price takes intelligence, or you would end up with something crap like a Saxo or an old Fiesta.

And as a point, I would have to find the best deals around as my parents aren't millionaires and so can't spend ?2500 on a car for themselves, let alone me. And because I'm an idiot, I have about ?500 of savings.

It's funny when people say that the news was better this week. Almost half of the news this week was from last weeks news but it didn't make the final cut. And you wonder why there are no "News Uncut" videos yet :p.

Great episode, 8/10.

Insurance for my first car, an '88 Ford Escort 1.4L = ?1300. Interestingly at the same time, i was considering a '97 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 which was coming out at double that, ?2600.

Insurance for my sisters car, 3 years later, a 51 plate Daewoo Matiz 800cc = ?1200

Sure, you can do it cheaper if you 'front' by putting a parent as a main driver, but, as the guys pointed out, that could end up with huge consequences.

Personally, this is one of the best episodes out of the lot.. the whole lot. I'm not quite sure why I enjoyed it so much, I think because of the epic guest, epic race, funny challenge etc. It just had everything and so, evidently, I gave it 10/10.
Was it me, or did everything seem more squashed and closer together? Like the table and chairs on the interveiwing/news stage? Hmm :?

ANYWAY, yeah. I enjoyed this one a lot. :)

^^I haven't evaluated the cost, but I think companies have a 'main driver' option (whilst having the 17yr old still as a named driver, not the policy holder), which will surely bump up the price, but possibly not by the same amount. And would you rather have no wheels or be insured as a named driver?

Stephen was great in SIARPC. And I found the second car in my perfect three car garage - the 722.

Enjoyed that a lot. The Greatest Living Englishman in a Reasonably Priced Car, plus a 14 year olds wet dream, a 722 vs a Murcielago and a Maclaren F1 vs a Veyron. Was surprised the latter was so close given the oft-quoted 120mph head start thing, but the heat must kill those turbos.

And I didn't think naughty thoughts about those teenage girls. Oh no.

Sorry, but I didn't like it. The best bits were the ones shot in Abu Dhabi, but I just didn't get the 17 year olds film. I didn't do any of that stuff when I was 17, and I've always had my own insurance. so I've no idea what the joke was?

Listed it as a 3, I'm afraid.

Funnily enough I had exactly the same thought. (Mineworksfine finally comes out of the Fifth Gear closet.)

A solid 8 from me. although from all the bits I missed (Mrs Hersworksfinetoo is actually Mrs Noteverythingworksaswellasitshouldrightnow as she has a cervical herniated disk) so I was ironing shirts during the first half of the show.

The bit with the remote on the driveway had me laughing even harder than Jezza's arrival at the Florida campsite with a cow on the roof of his 'Stang.

Brilliant episode!

Last week I noticed lots of people found the episode very good, I on the other hand missed the 'Top Gear Magic'. However, the magic returned on this episode. I gave it a 9/10, I hope all episodes in this series will be as good as this one.
