Someone Else's Problem: 14ft of sensibleness...? My '11 VW Eos

Your ability to find joy in the most boring things is amazing.

I'm slightly jealous.

Narrrf :)

Wasn't boring at all along the way :p the car got to see pretty places:

Albula:

Bernina:

On the last stretch of Furka, waiting to go up Grimsel... Tour de Suisse :shakefist:

Ignore the badly stitched panorama at the bottom, the sunroof isn't broken :p

Gotthard:

Maloja:

Spl?gen:

Stelvio:

Susten:

No pictures on my cellphone from Fl?ela, Julier, Lukmanier, and Reschen - I might add those when churning through the dashcam
13 days, 3800km, 9 countries, 267l of petrol for 389?, 7l/100km average, about 2500km of those were topless  ... and 5 days of work happened in between as well

Oh wow, that looks incredible. Jealous!

Additional peaks off the dashcam:

Fl?ela:

Julier:

Lukmanier:

Apparently I failed to save footage from Reschen... but that wasn't too interesting anyway.
Have some more shots going up Stelvio instead:

Four dozen hairpins to the top!

Quite a lot of tough cyclists

Clich? view...

...Almost there...

...done! :D

TIL I have automatic high beams

Still "converting"... went with cropping from 1080p to 720p because the cropped off stuff is all black anyway...

Works quite well and quick under normal circumstances, but I think my left index finger does a better job overall :dunno: for example, it takes quite a bit to realize when you're being overtaken - too long for my comfort, because I'm basically shouting at the overtaking driver until it turns them off

Another all-is-well update for lip, visited a swarm of autonomous self-sustained mowers today because the sun didn't shine here:

Elbuferstra?e? Or somewhere in Friesland?

Looks nice! Next time you are near Hamburg, try the Elbuferstra?e as well. Looks the same, but has random dead bikers wrapped around trees.

Which one? Google obviously knows billions of those.

That's unlikely for me though, because it's beyond a leisurely afternoon but not interesting and different-from-home enough for a long weekend or more :p

I'm quite annoyed with this in my A4, useless from time to time. Turns light down when you are approaching a tight corner with these reflectors on contryroad: annoying. Often isn't fast enough: annoying. Lever is just programmed wrong: instead of forward = high beam; forward again = automatic high beam, it's the other way round, which is stupid.

You can make the entire nuisance go away by switching the headlights from auto to on. Then the lever is the standard forward: on, forward again: off.

All of them.

I see. I'll keep that in mind for when I'm on the way down or back and have half a day to spare, thanks!

This just shouldn't be the solution: there's around 3 million settings in my car menu, why isn't there one for just: turn off automatic high beam? :D I mean, in the pre-facelift car you could even adjust how long the lights would stay on when you close the car. This is (fortunately) gone, there should've been space left for this.
