Well this had the best Cpt Slow ever. No direction to keep and ultimately just going down.

The TopTip should be:

"If you are on your way to a hospital in labour in a kia: Get yourself a Mercedes or a Jaguar quick. Name your kid appropriate and hope..."

Jesus was at least a nice guy.

And Lancia. Again. Luckily my one has the eletrically powered leatherseats build in the 8.32. Unluckily they don't work anymore. They used to, but the switches in the seat did just rust away. And are repaired only every now and then.

I voted for citroen as the best company - though I should have been the 10th to vote Lancia.

But I wasn't . Citroen: 11CV (gangsters car) 2CV (Peoples liberator), DS (the goddess), cx (the best looking streamlined car in the world. xm (cx 2.0). BX (the box after the fiat panda) and all the great Ralleycars did it for me .

Well, my second best choice made it.

Nice.

Lancia porn saved the night from complete failure due to a fucking retarded penalty ruining the Grey Cup.

So 10, through extenuating circumstances.

Or, maybe, "get in a Mercedes and hope your child is a girl." It works - I was at school with a Mercedes, and I'm not talking about the teachers' car park.

In fact, there are quite a few cars that you could get in and hope for a girl. An Alfa Romeo Giulia, for instance (though your future daughter may come to hate you for the odd spelling). Or a Nissan Silvia (again, slight spelling problem). Or a Renault Clio (at the risk of repeating myself...). Or a Citro?n Dyane... actually, scrap that, nobody deserves to be born in one of those.

Boys' names just don't work so well on cars, and I can't think of any off the top of my head. Just don't mention Geoff.

You forgot the GS with its bonkers dashboard and the SM with its bonkers everything.

I should put together my dream garage at some stage. Just on what we're discussing here, it'd have seven Lancias in it (Fulvia Coupe, Stratos, Monte Carlo, Gamma Coupe, Beta Coupe, Integrale, Thema 8.32) and four Citro?ns (DS, GS - probably a Birotor, SM, CX).

Ideas for the rest? I would say "no Peugeots" but I'd be lying - there'd be a 205 GTI in there, and a 604 for a laugh. And a Talbot Tagora for an even bigger laugh.

This one is a much stronger 8 than last week. I liked the majority of the show, but it seemed that most of everything following SIARPC was a mash up of forced humor. It was good, but it lacked something.... I'm thinking a lap of the track in the Balboni, and perhaps a lap in the Delta Integral?, or the authentic Stratos.

You know, that was really good, perhaps all the more so after last week. The airship bit was stunningly beautiful, makes me with I could handle HD on my laptop. James is always amusing and Richard was quite at home in the Lambo. The ending seemed a bit sudden and open though, to the point where I thought they were going to make it a 2 part film (which I am VERY glad they didn't, would have ruined it). I sincerely hope they planned the bit about him drifting over the airport. I can't imagine the terror of doing that by accident. I'd need new pants for sure.

I always like it when the presenters have something they're clearly passionate about and the two Lancia segments clearly hit that switch. I'm dying to know how they got the panels to fall off while Jeremy and Richard were chatting and driving around. That's something that was clearly planned, but it came out very, very well. Loved it. The Marina callback was a bit more subtle than the in your face Dacia Sandero bit from 14x01 so I liked that. The news was fine, SIARPC was fine. I think not knowing Chris Evans handicapped it for me, but it wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. We all know "fine" by TG standards is mighty damn good compared to anything else. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the rewatch.

Quite the well-done episode. I think this has been the most consistently well done episode yet. I'm not sure if any one of the segments were the best in history, but each segment is solid, the pacing was solid, everything about it was solid. A great 9/10 from me.

Top Gear is a proper car show once again, missed those great segments where they reviewed cars on the road like at the Isle of Man, Iceland etc.

Still a Hyundai...but this time an i30
Stratos- I WANT ONE IN MY LIFE!! Obviously not the Kit car, but a really good one.

Airship- I wanted one in my life, until it crashed.

Balboni-I would've want one if it didn't cost more than a normal Gallardo.

Chris Evans' car collection- DO WANT! But that's probably one too much expensive Ferraris.

9/10 from me in this episode. If only they had a lap of the Balboni but that Stratos lap was just epic.

Really enjoyed that. Thought they would be going with Citroen, but I can agree with Lancia. And then that film was TG at its best, about a love of cars with soul even though they have flaws. And rust holes in them.

And for everyone who hates the scriptedness of the gags, my reaction during the notarace.

Spoiler Text: (Click here to toggle display)

*Richard gets out, leaves the door open*
Me: Sigh. I can see this coming a mile away...
*Jeremy hits door*
Me: Told you...
BADOING!
Me: *blinks*
Me: *falls over laughing*

I dunno, this episode didn't really move me as much.

Caravan airship bit was... random. Lancias where awesome tho, I knew they would pick them. Mmm Stratos...

And yer more Stratos at the end. Could have done something different there.

There were some continuity problems as Jeremy and Hammond drove around in that Lancia which was falling apart. Doors fell off from the outside view and were intact on the interior view.

Entertaining though. 7.5/10.

Yeah the front license plate kept coming and going too, but I expect such things from Top Gear. It's not a documentary and I'm surprised I even noticed.

2007 Hyundai Elentra- it's a shitty car
As I start this, I still don't know what I'm going to give this one. It will come to me as I type this out.

Caravan Airship/Lambo drive- OK, I think we all knew the airship was destined for failure. And Andy Wilman said it would be on the cutting edge of cocking about. Well, he wasn't lying. IMO, there's only one thing that TG as done that's crazier than that and that's crossing the English Channel on the boats.

As for the car, that is beautiful. I would've loved to see what the Stig could've done with that.

News- felt a bit short to me, but it actually had car news! And we've had another visit from Jesus!

Lancia film- This felt like Top Gear before the last couple of years, mixed in with the more recent TG madness (demostrated by this series' run at pissing off the MMOC and the Lancia driven while every panel fell off). A history lesson based on a ridculous idea: Lancia made the most great cars. I quite enjoyed it.

SIARPC- Petrolhead? Definitely. Annoying? Definitely. Let's move on.

Lancia Kit Car- Jezza is a brave man for driving that thing. Once the brake went, I'd say "I'm not getting in that thing until the brake's replaced." I mean, talk about a rubbish car.

Edit: I forgot to mention "...or now."

All in all, this was a car show. There was still cocking about. But without question, this was a car show. And for that; even though it wasn't perfect, I'm giving it a 10/10.

^ I forgave that on the grounds that it was a clearly scripted purely comical bit and not trying ot be passed off as a real event. Seeing the error didn't really detract the funny or the point they were trying make

meh, everyones already shared my view on the goodness of the ep so an 8.65 rounded up to 9

I didn't actually like this one that much compared to last week for some reason...I'll watch it again, but it seemed a bit boring, as the car bits replacing the cocking about weren't acutally that great. This may have something to do with the fact that I'm about 2 years old and can't relate to anything made before the year 2000 though...:p

With the Morris, I laughed so much, for so long, my family was beginning to think I had lost my mind. I haven't had such a good laugh in so long, it got a 10 from me.

MUCH BETTER! I was hoping they'd bounce back from that bucket of fail that was last week; and they did.

Very solid 9. If only Stig had taken the Lambo for a lap, too...
