Someone Else's Problem: 15ft of sensibleness: My new Octavia

Are you doing it yourself?
Is that a kit from Ebay? :D I've found some there , and I'll have to buy them for the Dacia, because otherwise my Sister won't be happy about it.

Yeah, did it myself. All that's left to do is plug everything in and store the controller somewhere.

It's a 35? kit bought online  can't be bothered to pay VW ten times that amount.
Did the same thing with the Astra two years ago, except that it was less of a hassle. The Skoda's bum is fully encased for aerodynamics so I have to remove the bumper. With the Astra you could just scoot under it and work inside the attached bumper.
With both cars I'm getting the sensor cables inside through the right rear light case, that's also where the power comes from - right reversing light.

Hooray for the Octavia! I see your trip computer is as hit-and-miss as mine!

Indeed. Judging by the spritmonitor.de statistics it's ranging from 0.1l/100km under to 0.6l/100km over the pump figure, average is 0.23l/100km over.

excuse the crappy pic through my window, at least it's current ;)

All is well.
The only problem it's had was someone backing into the front bumper with a trailer hitch, but that's only visible if you know it's there. I preferred to pocket the money from her (obviously...) insurance than fix it  it's only cosmetic, and who cares about invisible cosmetics?
The service-o-meter says I have 400 days left to the first service and oil change, or in total 31000km whichever comes first... last week 16k rolled over, perfectly on target
Fuel is good, considering it mostly does light urban traffic.
Still :wub:ing the engine.

Thought so :)

Isn't there some similar coastline (with wide beaches) further south along the western coast of Germany?

There is a beach which you can cruise on in St. Peter Ording, but from Kiel it's almost as far as R?m?.

Btw: I'm counting on you that you are in Lensahn on Sunday, too. ;)

You're definitely thinking of St Peter: http://goo.gl/maps/lY7K

Takes almost as long to drive as R?m?, and is even more crowded. Also, driving in Denmark is more fun than going through all the small German villages with their constant 50 - 100 - 50 - 100 speed limits. It's either a roundabout or an intersection with 3453453 traffic lights

^ has attacked her sensibleness  and even has left a cute and cuddly present in the engine bay.

My assumption is that one of the spark plug wire insulations has been damaged, I'll take it apart on Sunday - can't even see any of the wires under the engine cover. Yay for having a selection of Torx bits ready
Must be busy humping season for them, the Fabia had the same issue two weeks ago.

The solution is to install one of these in your engine bay.

Kolm

^Is that considered a pun or a normal joke?

Eitherway...
