Saturday 16th of July @ 7pm GMT 0:00 S2 FULL VERSION

General Rules
  • You can only join if you are a serious racer. We are here for fun and we don't need childish wreckers.
  • You need a legal copy of the game. Demo will do for the first couple of races, almost everyone has the full version already. Later on we will be playing the full version online.^
  • If you keep fucking up the race, like forgetting to brake in every corner or anything like that. I'll kick your butt ;-)
Racing Rules
  • If you want to overtake the car in front of you, honk the horn once.
  • If you are being overtaken, go to the either side of the track. just don't be in the way.
  • If you want to let the person behind you know he can overtake you, use the double turn-signal and go to either side of the track.
If you don't have turn-signals mapped, do it.
  • If you see a person behind you that is faster and wants to overtake, let him. Don't ignore him and think you can be faster.
Turn on the blinker and let him pass. You may even want to slow down a bit so you two won't end up in a corner side by side.
  • Don't use other people as a guide-rail in corners. If you can't keep up, don't ruin it for them.
  • If someone accidently hits you and you end up in the grass, don't plan on revenge. Nobody is out to kill your fun.
  • Overtaking in corners is a thing you should decide for yourself, as long as you don't violate rule number 5 it's fine.
Slower cars can take the corner wide so faster people can overtake on the inner side.
  • No alcohol is allowed.
  • If you think these rules are too much, just use COMMON SENSE.
  • Have fun!
Endurance Race

Car: RB4 GT
Track: Aston CADET
Laps: 30
Time: 30mins (avg laptime 1.00)

Advice
  • When you crash, drive into the pits, don't hit the pitbutton you will start over at lap 1.
  • You don't win a race by taking the first corner, please keep the competition but be gentle in the first corner.
Bashing will lead to countless Restarts.
  • Maybe you want to make your own skin, this way you'll be instantly recognised by people, and it's more fun with individual racerskins.
  • Keep in mind that your car consumes fuel alot. Make sure to keep notice of F12 Status, and you can change the strategy by using the arrowkeys.
  • Two cumpulsory pit stops, you can just refuel, or just change tires, or both, up to you, just make two pit stops at least!
Tip If you have 30% fuel, and have 15% for refuelling, the pitcrew will make sure you leave with 15%, so they empty the tank, that will cost you alot of time.
  • When a major crash happens in the first 3 laps we will restart. If we are spread all over the place, it's not fun anymore.
  • No need to overtake in a certain corner by all means, there are 30laps, you will have pleanty of time and oppurtunities to overtake. overtake only when you are sure you will not cause a crash. Most of the time the slower person in front of you will make way for you to pass.
  • If you are way behind, don't give up, you can win a race by first place, but you can also try winning with the best laptime, so if you are all alone, profit from it and try to break your own personal best (pb).

why don't we set another date for the endurance race over the week.... cuz I think I will be missing the weekend races, I'm never home for it

i hope i'll be there, need to send in my laptop for a repair, hope to be able to get it back before the weekend.

nice rules jos. People READ and KEEP them, otherwise this wont work!!! :) Use commonsense guys, dont try to overtake by all meanst. If your opponent is 1/2 a car length infront of you, overtaking wont work, so let off the throttle a bit, get behind him and take the corners safely. There will be pleanty of time to overtake, keep close behind him, put some pressure, and sooner or later your opponent will run a bit wide in one of the turns and you will be able to overtake.

IMO, places where you can overtake under normal racing conditions SAFELY!(assuming the person infront of you doesnt crash, spin or so).
- after the straight, by drafting a bit, and outbraking your opponent
- last corner before the straight begins, tricky left corner, also wide enought to outbrake your opponent

in case people miss the braking point, also possible:
- at entrance in the 1st chicane, a lot of times people make mistake there by running a bit wide, so that could be also a safe place to overtake, though its a bit tight, speed there is not high, so a small bump/touch of the cars wont cause any damage
- at entrance of the left corner before the second chicane(that down/uphill thing), people miss the braking point there often as well, so that could be also possible

All the other parts of the track are not wide/long enough for a safe overtaking imo.

Josty learnt that the hard way...

You should add that if you have to make an out of schedule (early) pit stop, you should fill up more... Or it will happen to other people as well...

th 18th? should be more like the 16th (I know this because Harry Potter comes out the 16th :)).

Good rules, just some errors, such as the date (two dates in the topic and in the bold header).

One day we might be organized enough to have a schedule of races, such as:

Five lap Aston Cadet with RB4 warmup
Thirty Lap Endurance Race: Aston Cadet, RB4
Five lap Aston Cadet with RB4 cooldown :)
Ten Lap Kyoto Oval, FO8 (start slowly, spread apart)
Three lap Kyoto GP, Small Formula
Three lap Westhill, Small Formula
Autocross?

fuck kyoto GP and warmup/cooldowns, 30 laps is enough to warm you up and cool you down.

we need more diversity in cars. Autocross is a good idea.

I just did 2x 10 laps endurances with the RB4 to practice, not bad but 10 laps is enough for me, good thing I'll pit to get a break after that! :p tires are kinda gone too

Cool down, kyoto GP is one of the best tracks in S2. Especially with FOX. If you can't handle it, start practicing. Or you just can leave as you always do

The only two things I have problem with are drags and kyoto oval. Drag is plain retarded, maybe ok for practicing starting, but racing there :yucky: And oval is totatlly pointless with V8, as half of the grid collide on first lap. And both mentioned require very little fraction of driving skill so they aren't satisfying.

And yeah, I really miss demo races. That was a racing in pure form, no changing cars/tracks every 5 minutes, endless crashes and pitting, much more people who actually knows track and car guarantees competition every time (if 1st corner is clear).

mxm has some good points, i suggested in earlier races the same about changing cars & tracks every 5 minutes
we decide on a track and car, and we practice that till we can have proper races, makes no sense to change car and track all the time and have countless restarts :x

oval v8 is ok, but we arent skilled enough to have a proper race there. i like it cos its not that obvious as it seems. i mean, you overtake someone, but that doesnt give you eany benefit, he drafts behind you and is in the lead back in no time. so its sort of interesting to plan how you take the corners, when you overtake, when you draft etc. but face it guys, we suck, sure everyone can make 10laps with the v8 on the oval, but we can NOT handle it in a race.

kyoto gp is indeed an awesome track, ren go practice :p

warm up is a good idea, starting the 30lap race right away is not gonna work. in pretty much all the lfs leagues, they do 2-3practice starts and have warmp up sessions. so doing 1-2 5lap warm up races is perfectly fine in my opinion, and we should do that.

combining chickeneater's idea about auto x, and mxm's wish for a track and car we all know and can handle, i (or anyone else) can make a few modifications to blackwood. nothing major, just adding say a few obstacles and cones on the track, maybe 1-2 extra chicanes or so. that way, its a familiar track, but still a bit different. btw, by adding a few obstacles i do NOT mean ramps ;)

And this is open to all forum members?

Sure, we're no club of elitists here. The only thing you'll need to race with us it the full S2 version. I believe the costs are 12 pounds so it isn't that much.

If you want to see what it's like first, you can ask in the spontanious racing thread for a demo race. I'm sure you'll find people wiling to race there.

But S2 is not 12 pounds as Swek said, you have to buy S1 + S2 if you want S2. Don't know if you already have S1, but if not it will be around 24 pounds.

Still a bargain compared to other games. And if you really like realistic racing this will be your best investment ever.

its a hidden server called chickeneater and the password is fg... when we have spontaneous racing or our weekly races, it will be in there... if I knew your location, I can help you calculate the local time where the races take place

About 10am - 1pm depends, that's your saturdayrace. It's about 9h pm for Europeans.

Join us, new competition :D

I left cause I had something else to do and because it became boring.

I also hate this track...
Anyway, won't be there, I got sensless drinking to do...
