Going for the obvious one here.

Carl Orff - "O Fortuna" (from Carmina Burana) for the bit at the end when, uh... *cough* ..."their quest ended".

Mandolin track on Top Gear christmas special

Mandolin track on Top Gear christmas special

Does anyone know what was the track playing right towards the end, as the went into the final scene. It was a classic guitar or mandolin track that I recognise from a famous movie but i can remember what it is...Just that I have been looking for it for ages.

01:05:56-01:06:20 Hybrid - Salt

Does anyone know what the instrumental bit from 43:26 to 43:40 was from or by who because i recognise it and its really bugging me where from

@burgs. Don't know it, but I've been trying to find the name of that piece for years too!! It must be one of the most used pieces of incidental music in TV, and TG have used it before (in a scene from 4 or 5 years ago featuring a villa and swimming pool somewhere in southern Europe if memory serves - I even contacted the beeb to see if they could tell me, but they didn't reply. Before I was aware of this forum, obviously). Can now do a pretty good impresson of a mandolin tremolo when I ask any musicians/musos if they can 'name that tune'!

1:02:59 - 1:04:25 Hans Zimmer - The Battle (OST Gladiator)

26:25 - 27:04- The Cinematic Orchestra- First Light (The Crimson Wing: Mystery of the Flamingos Soundtrack)

Funny how they mixed in a few short seconds of Desert music from Star Wars: A New Hope during the Syrian desert portion.

originally it was called "Iguazu" by Gustavo Santaolalla, although it reappears in a lot of his film scores, may have been taken from Babel or Amores Perros.
