Do you guys ever do anything that doesn't involve watching Top Gear filmed?

Doesn't it get boring after the first five times you've been?

I think they need a restraining order...

This will only be the third time I've been and never with my own tickets. It's different each time but it's tiring too. Jeremy might possibly need a restraining order from me, although I did manage to accidentally touch Hammond the first time I went.

Apparently he has been angling to be on the show for some time according to the conversation he-he and I had with Wilman a few weeks back.

Also don't expect either of the guests to be going to the top of the leaderboard in a week's time. I just checked the forecast which currently says

. :(

On the plus side FG will be well represented since I found out yesterday suggsygirl is going to be there along with he-he, Dr Grip and yours truly.

I absolutely can't wait to meet you. I must warn you though there may be huggage. I'm quite touchy-feely ;-) Also wyvernchick will be there too.

It's as much about the day out and hooking up with friends tbh. Half the fun is the couple of hours hanging about in the car park beforehand, chewing the fat and taking the piss out of some of the other audience members, seeing what people turn up in, meeting fellow FGers who you haven't met before and so on.

Plus the News and SIARPC each take about half an hour to record so there is plenty of stuff that ends up on the cutting room floor because it's far too close to the knuckle ever to be broadcast even on the website. Plus all the piss-taking they do between takes or when one them cocks up.

And for me it's also about chatting with other fans between takes. The time before you go in though is great. Having a chat and getting even more excited - well, that's me anyway.

*squeeeeeeeeeeee*

Slash just tweeted he is on his way out there now, and the weather so far is looking good. Though if it's anything like here at the moment, then that could change in an instant!

Fucking hell!! Misrabelle's back!

Great day, real "end of term" atmosphere amongst the crew. News the best I've ever seen recorded, good films, good guests and if the final edit exhibits the same promise then the series finale should be a corker.

Great to meet so many FGers for the first time. Wyvern charming (love the steampunky necklacee!), Diti lovely (so glad you made it with that traffic), suggsygirl you are officially bonkers in the nut and Dr Grip such a pleasure to be able to facilitate your flying visit and thanks again for the Jubi!

Bonkers?! How very dare you! Pray to god you never see me drunk if you thought that was bonkers!

Many thanks to you, MWF, for making it possible. I really thought I'd missed out again this time - I sometime wonder if they only offer tickets to those to the south of the M25 corridor on the assumption that they at least stand a chance of turning up!

It was a brilliant day; yes, tiring, but lots of lovely things for viewers to enjoy on Sunday!

This filming of Top Gear was absolutely wicked. It was absolutely awesome, by far the best one I've been to, I think. I shall write my view of what happened - because this is me though be warned there shall be *squee!flail* over the gay comments because that's just the way I roll.

Firstly I shall give you my video blog in which I am very excited indeed and there is boob jiggling.

Before the day started I took an excited pictures of me.

We arrived at the studio car park and did some socialising and taking of pictures until it was time to go in.

Then I did something I didn't do last time... I ran. I made no pretence of doing anything else but to keep up with the people I was with and to guarantee that I could see I ran. I wasn't even that out of breath it was like, single-mindedly, 'must get to front.' It worked, anyway. I had a brilliant view of The News, although I wasn't in shot at any point but I was right at the front next to one of the cameras. The News wasn't particularly gay this week although they did show a picture that was supposedly a bathroom in the Kremlin and Jeremy said, "This was taken on mine and Hammond's romantic, Moscow, weekend away." Which made me smile in a massive way. There was also a bit where Jeremy was being a huge perv with a woman in the audience, saying her boobs were distracting him, then he said, "Do you want to come every week... and to Top Gear," to which she laughed and Richard said, "You're too old to come once a week."

Kimi Raikkonen was an F1 guest and, bless him, he was really boring. I mean he was quite sweet and said a couple of amusing things but you could tell that Jeremy was finding it hard work.

Then there was a film on the M5...

431725_10151352516480117_734130116_23008099_10856996_n.jpg

James did a piece on Chris Evans' Ferrari California which was pretty cool.

Then it was time for the break and my mission was to try and get a picture with Richard because I have one of all the guys but him. I hung around for a bit while James took pictures nearby...

Then Richard came out and I pounced like a stealthy tiger. Not quick enough to beat some of the more fervent Hammond fangirls but quick enough. It's actually a pretty rubbish picture but I don't care, now I have the set.

Then after the news we had the guest who was Slash from Guns 'n' Roses who I don't particularly care about but I found him quite interesting. I was stood right at the back for that bit because I'd been at the front once and thought I'd give someone else a go. The advantage of that though was that Slash walked right past me on the way out. I could have touched him, but I didn't!

Next was a rally film which was utterly epic. I think that's definitely my favourite bit of what was a pretty awesome show. They had the rally cars in the studio.

Then as they were setting up the next shot they fluffed it a few times and James said, "I was just trying not to cough because I couldn't cover my mouth." To which Jeremy said, "I'll cover it for you." James then quipped, "You couldn't last time!" with a dirty smirk at Jeremy. The audience laughed and I giggled.

Then in the next bit they were talking about James' vile shirt and how it looked like pyjamas and Hammond said, "James has come in his pyjamas again." To which James said, "I've been doing that since I was twelve. These are clean though." There was more giggling from me. I'm such a fangirl and I don't even care!

The whole thing was utterly fabulous and I'm so lucky to have got the opportunity to go again.

Charming? *blush*

I love the photo :D

What a brilliant day - they'll really have to make a major cock up of the edit to ruin that one. That was one of the best recordings of anything - and living near London, I go to a lot of different recordings (it's about the only cheap night out you can get around here) - I've been to, especially in terms of atmosphere. Really good fun and so fantastic to meet up with so many FG peeps. Everyone seemed really on form, loved the films, enjoyed the guests, and what a way to end the show!

Looks like Slash enjoyed himself too - he tweeted this after the show:

Top Gear was a blast. Rained most of the time but it didn't matter, fn cool to be there. Got to play a little Gtr at the end too. IiiI; )'

Kimi was very dry. His lap was wet.

Great pics, thanks for sharing.

Hmm.. interesting choice of cars for the racing-bit. 3-series, Saxo and MR2?

Am I correct in assuming that we'll be seeing the return of the Cool Wall on sunday? :woot: Or was it just standing around in the studio?

And since you guys always bring up all the stuff they do in the news and that never makes it on the air: Has TG ever published any sort of "naughty outtakes-reel" or are there even uncensored editions of the regular program available on DVD?

What happened to Axl Rose?

It was never going to be him - MWF had a senior moment, and so did I 'cos I saw his post and didn't correct him! It was always going to be Slash.

No cool wall - it's a permanent part of the studio like the Hilux.

And nope, no outtakes other than a couple of bits from earlier series floating around somewhere.

Dang, no Cool Wall... :(

Hmm.. yeah, I've seen some of those - the rather old ones with Jezza getting hugely distracted by a set of gigantic boobs.. but even those had all the swear-words bleeped (the clips, not the boobs). Oh well, thanks anyway.

I was planning on trying to collar Wilman after the filming (not hard since he-he would have had him in a headlock by then!) to ask what had happened to the Cool Wall. I really used to enjoy it and since it's a pretty cheap item to do and they keep complaining about budget cuts it would make a useful filler once of twice in each run.

Sadly I had to get Dr Grip back to Gatwick to catch his flight home so we had to skip out about 15 minutes before they wrapped up.

I'll try to remember to ask him next time I go.

They are showing this outtake video (or rather, an edit of all outtake videos floating around on this site) as part of the warm-up for the studio audience. I am sure I have literally seen every single frame of their warm-up montage before. So if that's any indication there at least are no edited outtakes somewhere in the TG vaults.

On the other hand, the news (as MWF pointed out) are much longer than the cut that makes it into the episode and at least this time, most of the news that won't make it to TV consisted of Jezza using language you are not allowed to use on TV, so there would be enough material....

Wilman, if you read this: Wouldn't a 18+ rated "Top Gear news uncut" Christmas DVD make a great cash cow? Get some intern to do a rough color correction on the live cut used for the studio monitors, have another intern do a DVD menu, $$$. Most parents are irresponsible enough to get one for their kids, no matter what rating.

He-he was very restrained I'll have you know! (i.e. had a bit of a relapse and was too tired to hang around, so the man got off lightly). The last time I asked him (couple of series ago) he just said they were running out of ideas and it didn't gel as well as it used to. I meant to ask him when they were back for the next series but forgot. However, Jeremy did say something that triggered my antenna... 'we'll just leave him up there until the Autumn'. The Autumn. :hmm:
