First things first, I thought it was a good episode and series. I very much enjoyed jameses segment and the motor racing one. That said, I do like BMW M5's a lot, and the E60 M5 review is one of my all time favorites, the F10 review was good, but I think for a car that Richard claims could be one of the best all-round cars in the world, it could do with a longer review not only on the track.

Very good episode, despite me not really being a fan of Slash or Kimi. M5 video was pretty good if kind of forgettable, I did think it was funny seeing how small Hammond looked in the huge seats. James in the Ferrari was excellent and either Chris was acting very well or they genuinely sprung the question on him. Rallycross looked like a huge amount of fun and probably the best ever cheap car challenge. I think I'll have a look and see if there's anything local. :)

I think this has to be the best series in recent history, bar a few duff moments they've really done well. Plus I got to see it being made! What more could anyone want? :D

agree with the comment that it did seemed a bit rushed, the episode was like roller-coaster ride with no let up in pace. BUT, everything was brilliant, there wasn't a single let down segment at all.

9/10 (the 10 is reserved for the likes of Senna episode, and Vietnam special)

this series has been on of the strongest for a VERY long time, aside from the poor car chase segment.

Kimi, awesome
Vintage Ferrari, awesome
M5, awesome (I WANT TO SEE THE LAP!)
Rallycross: Absolutely brilliant, that was the most entertaining 10 minutes in TopGear since a long time

Slash: Pathetic. First of all, he looks like a clown, wearing sunglasses in studio, and actually holding up his album? I mean come on, that is taking it too far. He is the only reason this ep gets a 9 and not a 10. And that I had to see MWFs & Dr_Grips faces. :p Cut Slash out, show M5 lap, 10/10.

I disagree about the Audi joke. I can't see them milking it forever and the audience reaction in the studio says tome that they judged that perfectly. I did suss immediately we walked in there what they were going to do with it and I was right.

I liked it as well anyhow :)

What I predict will happen is that the Audi joke will be dropped for the next series apart from (perhaps) once or twice when you least expect it. Possibly.

Anyway, an excellent end to an excellent series, and that includes the Sweeney stunt segment (which could have perhaps benefited from tighter editing). If there had been only one SIARPC and an epic challenge included (instead of the second SIARPC) it would have been an easy 10/10, otherwise it's 9/10.

Congratulations to the Top Gear production team :)

Drop Slash, add more rallycross and it would have been perfect. As it was now, 9/10. Brilliant most of the time! Kimi was good and fun, more charismatic than usual. Felt as if I've seen the M5 review before somehow, not bad, but still. Chris Evans bit really good as well.

I really loved the rallycross bit. It's those kind of segments that made me love Top Gear. Proper fun where I can picture myself doing it. :)

Drop two points for having a review of a Bavarian Manure Wagon. Drop another point for involving another Manure Wagon in the rallycross film. Drop two points for Kimi wanting to make me slit my wrists to put me out of my misery. That's a 5.

Kind of boring, the California was nice and the racing pretty cool otherwise very much meh.

Then add a point for each of the FG members in the audience. Makes it a 12 at least! ;)

Wyvern, Diti, Dr Grip, suggsygirl, MWF and another Doris whose name I can't remember.

And he-he doesn't count since she is now, officially, part of the set.

:tease:

Had constant distractions throughout tonight so found it really hard to get into it so will reserve overall judgement till I have seen it again. But the Kimi section, way too boring to give a 10 overall :(

I prefer to think of you as hostages that got repatriated.

Which part? I'd rather think of her as the Cool Wall rather than, say, Geoff.

How camp was Chris Evans' all-white Ferrari collection? I can forgive him for collecting them, but not for the Gok Wan style makeover

I loved the race - could have been a bit longer and more detailed IMHO a la 24 hour race a few seasons ago.

"Here's my 5 million GBP car's keys, take it for a spin." ? Chris Evans = hero!

Yes makes me want to see an episode next week too. :( A lowish 9.

The Audi joke was funny for 1 episode. Apart from that the episode was pretty good.

That was a 10 and I haven't given out a 10 in quite a while. Awesome episode!

Another 10 from me.

The rallycross was purely amazing - they could have made it the centrepiece of any other episode, easily. They legitimately tried - and it turned out spectacularly! The california was brilliant (it's on my list of 'if I sell a company and make a bajillion dollars I'll buy one if I can get it list'), Both "Stars in a car" were passable, the M5 film was well done, if a bit rushed feeling. But by the looks of it, they were a bit crunched for time, lots to get through so I'll forgive it.

This series has simply been magical, and I hope this represents a return to true form of Top Gear once again. The crew and cast of the show should be extremely pleased with what they accomplished this time around. I already can't wait until Autumn for the next run! This shows that when they have some time to do it properly, they do a really, really good job. I'm happy to wait an extra month, two or three to see quality like this.
