So i bought a Playstation 4 at release, but i never used it, never opened the box, so i somehow ended up trading it for a car...

So now i have my first FWD car... and it's purple.

It's a 1.4 liter, a CVH... carbed and all that, unfortunately that means it's a crappy carb, i need to change that somehow, the easiest tip i've gotten is using the carb from a 1.6 CVH engine.
CVH.. also means it's prolly got hemispherical combustion chambers... so i got a Hemi! :p

The car is not in amazing shape, there's some things i need to fix.
so i'd call it a project for now.

The paint changes color in light too.

The ragtop needs some care, anyone know of some products for washing and protecting convertible roofs?

The hood has a bit of fancy work to it.

Might need some work to the speedo, the numbers have somehow been worn off... just shows how fast the car is! when the needle wears off the paint! :p

Also, do i need new fittings, or do anyone know a way of fixing this? should i be able to just sand it down and paint it black?

Dat hood. Congrats on a fine trade.

You definitely need to keep that hood art.

One of the things i need to check is the dynamo, as it wouldn't keep power last i drove it... so this happened :p

I've at least started shopping for some parts.

Started out by buying a set of fag wheels... i mean wheel bearings. :p

Two memories from that generation of Ford:

1) Carbed CVH. Eurgh. My first car was a 3 door Mk3 Escort with the 1.3 CVH. Used bucketfuls of fuel, never idled properly and had a top speed of 100 on a bad day but at least it started on command.

2) Funky steering column stalks. :p I remember those from my grandparents' Scorpio and Mk4 Escort. Strangely enough the Sierra never got them.

did use a lot of fuel, but had some speed to it, managed about 130 uphill at a 7% grade hill. managed to get past a few cars. :p

Escort RS turbo swap..?

I saw Escort and for some reason assumed it was an American one, boy was I wrong. I haven't seen one of these for years.

Erm, that's an asbestos warning sticker on the slam panel. I find that concerning.

i don't think there's asbestos in the car :p at least i hope not...

The interwebz say old brake pads so you're probably fine. Probably. :p

I would also prefer a Ford to a PlayStation. Even a 1989 Escort.

Also, with that hood in mind, you should put the car on Deviantart :D

It needs more rally, but an old convertible Ford is always a

That is a hell of a lot of car for $400!
