Why would he need to buy one? Who was broadcasting the match in the UK? If it was the BBC, Jeremy is a very valued and very highly-paid employee of the BBC. If it was Sky, Jeremy is a very valued and very highly-paid columnist for the Sunday Times and the Sun, both of which are owned by News Corp, which owns Sky. Does the word "perquisite" ring a bell?

If the race was a little longer, it was a solid 8. Needed more dicking about! If I want car reviews, I'll watch 5th Gear!

I checked their Twitter feeds for when this race was filmed (mid-September). Neither James nor Richard tweeted about going. On the other hand, Jeremy sent this one on September 19 (race filmed on 17th; match was on 18th)...

My personal theory is that Richard gave his ticket to Jeremy.

I think it would have been more interesting to do this race as a real re-do of the 2004 race with the DB9, but with the new Vanquish. Start from Dunsfold, finish at Casino Square. Even though the train is faster now I believe James said that Jeremy won the original race by well over an hour.
I just don't understand why they did this race the way they did, especially since Willman said that they were waiting for years to have a great idea for a new race. This was really the best they could come up with? A strange premise in a boring irrelevant car?
