(from Maserati Press Release) One year after its return to the North American market Maserati has also succeeded in reaffirming its leading role across the Atlantic in the segment reserved for prestige cars with a longstanding tradition. A success confirmed by the almost 900 Spyder and Coup? model units delivered to customers starting April (Spyder) and June (Coup?) 2002.

And the Company's dynamism is immediately evident on the stand too: the Kubang concept car, a true GT Wagon in terms of performance and active safety engineering that unquestionably testifies to the Company's vision, even beyond the sports cars it traditionally builds. In fact this concept car combines the traditional sporting structure of Trident-marque cars with superb versatility and an absolutely new interior design.

Other firsts at this Show are the 2003 models (already scheduled for delivery in Europe starting this month and in the USA and Canada from next March) with their wealth of technical content. One special feature of the cars is the MSP (Maserati Stability Program) system, whereas today's Spyder has a glass rear window. As already announced, the Maserati range will be rounded out with the presentation of the new four-door model, scheduled for the Frankfurt Motor Show next September.

Erm hang on - wasn't this a concept a year or so back? So is the production version? I'm confused :?

I love the Maserati grille and mouth shape... BUT, not on this... it looks so wrong and I'm sorry to say, worse than the Cayenne S front.

However, the back looks great.

This kind of reminds me of the Alfa Romeo 147.... :|

It looks horrid frankly  .. cant believe its a Maserati.. and what a Hyundai sounding name "Kubang" !!
Can anyone check if Fiat is still running the show at Maserati  !?

Quattroporte was a babe, wonder what went wrong with this one

...and why the hell are sports car companies making SUVs ? Cant they leave it to Range rover ? First the Cayenne , now this and what next ?
I am betting on Ferrari station wagon...something which is good for a track day with the dog in the back and your mother in law and rest of the family <_<

Money talks, as simple as that. I don't like this trend either

^ When I read it I can't help thinking of that Ricky Martin song (She Bang??)

"... Kubang, Kubang....."

Maybe that's just me

Possibly the best-looking tall wagon evAr.

At least they market it as a "GT Wagon" instead of calling it an SUV. I don't like the idea of a Maserati tall wagon as much as any other car enthusiast, but Maserati's not showing it traveling on dirt roads like all other car companies.

Kubang is a great name, but it sounds kind of amateurish for Maserati, like KaBang! :|

OMG that is soo urban run-about! Maserati just selling off their badge like so many others are... Whats so "GT" about it anywayz!

It's the best looking SUV, but also the worst looking Maserati.

Its a "GT Wagon" apparently...Looks more like the next Perodua Kelisa (that car James drove "undercover" in 2004).

EDIT: It looks like that Indian car that is rebadged as a Rover in Britain that James secretly did a review on last year.

Rappers will love it, I can already think of the new rap songs, "rollin' in mah kubang with da hoez...."

:x

Don't fucking do it.
