WoW!
Brabus have actually bothered to make the worlds most expensive car even more pricey$$. its gone from $1,000,000AUS to approx $1,450,000AUS!
Not only that its hell fast- 1026NM of torque generated from a 6.3L V12!! It gets to 100KM/PH in 4.9!
Lets keep our fingers crossed that TG can get there hands on this beast!

Yeah it's pretty old news though. But german tuners definately have no limits

it's a bloated Mercedes...thats all...
the novelty of it's size/power has worn off to me.

^ Cars like that sort of annoy\bore me as well. It's great that they are able to get that much power out of an engine, but these recent tuned Maybach\Mercedes\Vollkswagen vehicles end up just being ego-pieces for the rich pricks of the world.

I have a lot more respect for small, light, understated, and most importantly cheap, purpose built performance cars - not big, bloated, status symbol luxury cruisers with supercar engines.

in my opinion that sounds like talk of someone jealous of these status symbols :| . Nothing wrong with splurging on an excesive car even if you just go to point A and B. I mean comon'? Why buy suits as expensive as some peoples wardrobes? Why spend moeny on overpriced furniture, jewlery etc??

one simple answer, because they CAN and people like you and I cannot. :|

Um, that?s exactly my point. Why spend money on status symbols? They do it just because they can... that's a pretty stupid reason to do anything.

A car such as that ridiculously Brabus Maybach serves no purpose whatsoever - no practical or even impractical purpose. A rich person may purchase a factory Maybach because they want a roomy, comfortable and luxurious ride - that makes sense to a certain extent (even though I myself don't see the point in vehicles like that). However, when you stick a super car engine in a roomy, comfortable, luxurious ride, any notion of making sense is completely removed. Why would someone need that much power in a Maybach: certainly not to race, not for performance (it's still not going to handle), not even for fast acceleration (something with a fraction of the power would be just fine for everyday use).

It is a feat of engineering to get that much power out of any engine, but the people buying the Brabus Maybach would not be buying it purely because it is a feat of engineering. Essentially, the car serves no real purpose.

And what are cars that serve no purpose and cost ridiculous amounts of money? Pretentious ego-pieces for the rich pricks of the world.

Thats exactly the bloody point of this vehicle man- it satisfies those who can own it. whoever said its meant to be practicle and blend in with everyday traffic.
On another note, damn it looks fine in those rims. i think the standard Maybach looks shit but with that body kit on....

But wouldn't you rather spend the money (if you had it) on buying a rare, exotic supercar and not an ocean liner on wheels?

those rich people have that AND can afford a maybach.

and zenon, since when is being rich practical?? A maybach shows people your bank account and status as a successful person. It's a reward to themselves and to their pride in their accomplishments.

And what are cars that serve no purpose and cost ridiculous amounts of money? Pretentious ego-pieces for the rich pricks of the world.

no offense but it sounds like you envy or are jealous of the financial wealth of those "rich pricks".

cheers to that
i must also add that Clarkson once said that "the Maybach is not the
type of car that you see postered up in a teenagers bedroom"
Those were not his exact words but they were somthing along the lines of that..
- i think things have changed since they hav introduced this Brabus. I mean thats got 10times more 'bling' factor than that Caddy they tested back in May. thats tha sorta car i want 50CENT to cruise around in, in his next video clip 8)

agreed, this things waay more blingier than that Escalade. It would be super cool if JC could get his hands onto of these! :) (that is if he can)
This Brabus is super rare, only three are coming into Australia!

There are things you can do with wealth rather than squander it on ridiculous cars like the Brabus Maybach. Furthermore, the fact that people seem to think that there isn't anything better to do with wealth than spend it on ridiculously priced cars is quite disturbing. There are countless practical things wealthy people can do with their money, and there are countless weatlhy people out there that actually do practical things with their money.

I am honestly not jealous at all. I just strongly dislike cars (or any objects) that become purely status symobls. I also have a problem with wealthy people who get so lost in the elitism of being rich that they are willing to spend ridiculous amounts of money on ridiculous ego-affirming status symbols.

If I had enough money to be able to afford a Maybach, I would be disgusted with myself if I bought one. If someone were to offer me a car such as the Maybach for free, I would not even take it - unless of course I could take the car and sell it right away ( ). If I were purchasing an expensive car, I truely believe I would have an extremely difficult time justifying any car over $50,000.

Man i'v heard enough, u sound like a grandmother! i cant believe u just wrote that if someone offered u a maybach for free u would be disgusted to take it. i think its something personal between u and nice things

Hear, bloody, hear! My sentiments exactly.
If you were in my city, I'd buy you a beer, mate!

With regards to property and to a lesser extent expensive jewellery, they will only appreciate in value (I'm talking about obscenely large rocks), whereas, last time I checked , most cars seem to lose value from the moment they are driven out of the showroom.

Add to the fact that I doubt a single Maybach will be owner driven, rather the owner will be carted around by a chauffeur, what is the point?

I share a similar sentiment. If I could sell the Maybach, I'd accept one and then get rid of it for a proper driver's car.
I used to think that my old man was a big bore for not buying a Porsche 911 years ago when I was a kiddy. Now that I'm approaching the stage where I have to think ahead (read: family) I can see how I was wrong. Property (and gold) is one of the few things in this world that will always increase (sure it will have dips/lulls in the market but, is always on the ascendency).

Rather, I think he has got more important priorities? Why retort to personal insults? That is not a very mature way of carrying on a conversation especially when faced with an opinion that differs to yours.

Or even a proper ocean liner or a Lear jet?

Another thing is the exclusivity, the Maybach can be purchased by entrepreneurs, royalty and even the local despot. If it was to be built on a very very limited number, then perhaps it would appear more enticing in my eyes, but as I said earlier, it is a car that will be driven by a chauffeur, not the owner.

I guess unlike most, I have ethics and don't buy into the myth of wealth. ... :p

Great post Peppy Toad, those are my thoughts exactly. You are indeed a very intelligent man. :)

I gotta agree with Zenon and peppy (to an extent) here.

I wouldn't mind a very expensive car if I was rich, I know it's not a good way to spendd money because it loses value but I don't care.

But it wouldn't be a fucking Maybach for sure! What's the point? you won't even drive it! it's even dumber to mod it!
