2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Under the hood is a 162-horsepower, 2.4-liter, 16-valve MIVEC engine that produces 162 pound-feet of torque. Drivers have a choice of either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission with Sportronic mode. Also a 263-horsepower, 3.8-liter, 24-valve MIVEC engine that produces 260 pound-feet of torque. The GT trim level includes the choice of a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission with Sportronic shifting.

I'm glad they tamed the car down a lot from the early prototypes I saw, but I still don't really like the look. The front end looks too much like a Chrysler and the back end looks very odd.

Is the 3.8-liter model AWD?

If anything, it reminds me of a Scion tC.

The new eclipse is one ugly car in my opinion, i saw it in person at the detroit auto show. There is not even 1 edge on that car.

I'm talking about mid to late 90's Chryslers, such as this one:

Well, I like it. A VAST improvement over the outgoing model.
 
I saw the new Eclipse convertible yesterday on a preview of it and other new Mitsubishi models. Looks hot and has nice exhaust tips but is waay to pricey for what it is. Has a very manly interior..big bucket seats and buttons etc..
 
I think it looks quite good. Any snaps of the interior? That was the biggest letdown of the last one, and I hope Mitsubishi steps up and does it right this time around.

I still don't really understand why Mitsubishi thinks they can sell a relatively plain looking front-wheel drive car with only 210 horsepower for $25,000 US. If it was lighter and rear-wheel drive I would be interested, but as of now the car is just too incredibly boring to justify the price. Even with the added power, I thinkt his new car will be more of the same. :?

My words exactly :thumbsup: . These sorts of lil cars with nothing much too them are not worth the money. I'd take a 350z convertible over this or even an MX-5 (even though I think its a bit girly).
 
this car's not that great lookin and i have to say the performace, even the sporty one sucks
 
The arse looks like the carrera GT. Looks like this millenium is gonna be full of shitty cars. Not to mention music.
 
the best eclipse is still the second gen ones... that was the only eclipse for real guys... 4G63 Turbo engine :D
