Those rear lights simply don't work with the proportions and lines of the rest of the car. It makes no sense what so ever! You can even see the original (and much better looking) VE lines where the lights would and should be on a VE.

I'm sorry but they've made a complete mess of it :( I am sooo dissapointed  It would have been near perfect IMO but they wrecked it!

The wheels look awesome.....and those sidegrills  Those seats are typical HSV - big, supportive and very inviting

I'm really loving these new Audi inspired steering wheels :) They look like they'll work well. I'm not so sure about the speedo though....I can't read anything on it!

Oh dear they've done it again. There isn't a whisker of difference between the GTS and the R8.
You might as well buy the R8 too save you a few dollars.
This is a disappointment to me. I expected better.
Though I guess you can't go wrong with 307kw

Yeah, I must agree with most of the comments made thus far. I really liked that leaked pic from a few days ago, but these just look.....weird.

Some look to bland and others look like someone has just gone after market on their ass.

The Clubsport looks to bland with all the details the same colour.

Don't mind the GTS and Senator from the side, as they look like the regular VE with better side vents and wheels, but the lights and rear ends look strange and ugly.

Not too impressed with them either, as everyone else has noted, the rear lights just look wrong. It's the kind of body mods you see in FastFours or something, where someones just butchered a set of MX-5 lights to fit. They also sit too low for the general shape of the car. The rear of the Senator also looks fairly bitsy, with too many lines and creases. I also don't really like the black plastic skirting, it's very 1997.

Theres good side too this unique styling, there wont be too many aftermarket look-a-like HSV body kits for the VE Commodores.
I've grown to like the style now. Faster then I imaged.
As the motto goes "I just want one"

This is by far the worst image I found - its of the Senator.

Firstly look at the terrible rear lights. As I mentioned before - you can see the original lines of the VE lights still in it.

Secondly, look at all that awefull plastic Magnet mentioned :yucky:

What dissapoints me the most is how good it would have looked if it just retained the nicely proportioned VE lights the way they were.

The rear light too me now dont look so bad. But if you must blame it on the aftermarket for creating bodykits.
The skirts could probably use some paint.

I'm looking forward to the Grange, if and when they get around to releasing it. Heres a PS that I found at LS1 of the "Caprice-V" :p

Looks Audi RS/Merc AMG mean to me  Lets just hope HSV leave the rear lights largely alone

That PS looks cool. But I'm sure it will end up looking nothing like that. Probably have some crazy, ugly fins on it and loads of scoops and stuff that makes it look far to "busy".

Will end up looking something like this!

What the hell did they do??? Can't work out how they've got it so wrong - really don't like it. The tailights are just awful - don't suit or fit the car one bit. In fact the whole rear is just bleurgh. The fender vents would look *a lot* better if there wasn't the badging underneath them.

I agree with all here in saying that the rear lights look butt ugly, as does the plastic on the Senator... But I do like the overall look of the GTS and R8... 307Kw too

i'm reallly liking it now, the initial reaction was shock and horror, but now, after looking at the images a few times i must say it's growing on me big time. I really like the taillights. can't wait to see one on the road.

My comment I made before was wrong, there is a reason to buy the GTS. Magnetic Ride Control (MRC for short) is standard on the GTS and the Senator. Plus the seats look more supportive then the Clubbies.

Yeah, the MRC on the GTS would be fantastic. Definitely makes it worthwhile. What i find interesting though, is there a straight up clubsport? it's mentioned nowhere on the HSV website, just the R8. maybe they plan to release it down the track a bit after they've shifted a few R8s. The way i see it at the moment, is that the Clubsport R8 has been moved downmarket to sit where the normal clubbie used to sit, and the GTS is filling the old R8s pigeon hole.

No DTS yet either, can't wait to see what they do with that.
