2007 Lexus LF-A in action

They're testing that prototype for quite some time, already. But there's no news if it will be mid-front or mid-rear engined.

it looks alot like the supra spyshots we've seen before! maybe it is the supra? then that nice engine sound should be from a v10, no?

did anyone see it follows a supra home near the end?
would be pretty cool if Toyota/Lexus is testing it against the supra.

Is it me or does that engine note sound alot like the V10 in the Carrera GT.

^ yeah i don't think any japanese car maker made an engine bigger than a v6 for a road car, correct me if am wrong.. but i don't remember a v8 nor anything bigger.. this might just be the first japanese muscle car w00t

The Supra spyshots turned out to be the LF-A.

That engine reminds me of an F1 engine. Which is a very, very good thing. I can't wait! :D

There was no point on a V8, because you couldn't put more than 280 hp. The Lexus 430 is a V8, IIRC.

Wasn't there a rumour about this, back when people were talking about it being a Mk 5 Supra, that it's a hybrid super car, front petrol engine, rear electric motor, hence the scoops going to the back.. I remember reading that somewhere. Would be a wierd and unique configuration, and not one that i can see a point in..

That project was real, but they won't go ahead with it. As I read somewhere (probably CAR), it's a missed opportunity. Toyota hasn't got enough brand power to sell a M6 or 911 competitor, so a hybrid car would be different from the rest. And not necessarily in a bad way. I, personally, would like to see the performance hybrid coming out.

There's also the Toyota Century. It's sold only in Japan and it comes with a 5L V12.

You can buy Toyota Century in Hong Kong too. Our Ex-chief excutive officer has one, I've seen a few on roads too.
Who said Japanese car makers can't put more than 280hp?
the regulations has been released. Honda is the first to get over 280hp, with their new luxurious sedan - Legend, with 300hp.

I said couldn't... I know they now can. In fact, I believe they always could, just didn't. A little like the 155mph/250kph limiter on some german cars.
