WorldCarFans.com short description:
Toyota gave us an eye into their possible near-future, with the FT-MV concept car. Called a "first-class, new-generation minivan" by the company, this seems the most likely of Toyota's concept cars to enter production.

With several ideas packed into this mini-van, like second-row seats with automatic ottomans. The van appears to seat six with each passenger in individual seats, as opposed to bench seating in the back. All rear passengers also have their own video monitors.

Ambient mood lighting is used throughout the leather-clad interior. Meanwhile, the exterior has some distinct angles to it, but without looking completely unrealistic. Toyota is trying to position the FT-MV (Future Toyota Mini-Van) as an elegant vehicle you might be able to buy soon.

Toyota's last mini-van concept, the F3R, was shown at Detroit in 2006. There are definite similarities between the two, but the FT-MV looks like a step closer towards production.

This is the sort of vehicle you'd want to get you from the airport to the hotel. Fully loaded like this - it would cost a shitload I reckon...

I give them encouragement points for trying to sexy up a van... but it's still a van. The interior is fairly nuts though - would probably be a damn comfy ride back there.

So it's essentially the new version of the Toyota Alphard.

I love those quirky Japanese vans.

That's what I was going to say... it just looks modern, but they have taken the interior to another Level, the Alphard is already very comfy... this is even better :D

Would it hurt them to realise that a minivan doesn't need to be based on a van? Look at the Ford S-Max and the Honda Odyssey (JDM)

Still, it doesn't look half bad for a van, and the interior is pretty damn cool.

Hey...when did Ssanyong buy Toyota?

I don't think this thing as nay sporting intentions. It's just a big luxurious van :)

It's great on the inside but not on the outside :(
Typical japanese thinking..
Just look ath the Toyota Century.. looks 40years old on the outside..
but on the inside its (was) better then a Rolls Royce (Granted its outdated like hell now)

Toyotas highprice cars have a really conservative design.., they are not "Bling"

Toyota, I like you a lot, but please for the love of god stop this madness! The Tarago/Previa is bad enough.

That said i do like the interior

They never get built though, lol.

I actually think thats pretty sweet. I'd pay a few bucks for seats like that. The well-to-do elderly would love this.

the centre console reminds me a little of the volvo XC concept released a couple of months, can't remember what it was called or bothered finding it.

You know, I liked 2001 and all, but I don't know if I would want a mini-van with HAL as the nav system...
