2008 F1 Car Launches

Yeah, so they look legal. But at the first touch they'll become lethal debris which can cause punctures at any time. Expecting 4 pieces of carbon fiber on the track in T1 at Melbourne after the start... from the McLarens' front wheels.

Lol yeah, all the opposition have to do is nudge it slightly and its curtains :p

More photos of the Williams livery have been leaked, I'm going to post this as being the official livery.

Ferrari had a similar opening on the car the used during the last half of the 2007 season. I always wondered what it was for too.

Not the vent, that's always been there, I'm on a bout the bit of wavy carbon fibre crossing the pic at the bottom

oh okay so you're just pointing out the carbon fiber wave detail. Ya I was confused too, thought you meant the vent.

Williams unveil 2008 colour scheme

By Jonathan Noble and Pablo Elizalde Monday, March 3rd 2008, 15:53 GMT

The Williams team have unveiled the colour scheme they will sport during the 2008 season.

The Grove-based squad used six different liveries during winter testing to commemorate a sequence of landmarks that will take place during the year.

Their final colours of the Toyota-powered FW30, however, were only unveiled today, less than two weeks before the start of the season in Australia.

Williams have impressed during winter testing with their new car, and team co-owner Patrick Head admitted they are hoping to give Ferrari and McLaren a scare in some races.

"We don't really target any particular team. We are just trying to do the best we can. Ferrari won the championship last year so they are the target," said Head.

"Obviously I would be disappointed if we cannot get in and give the odd Ferrari and the odd McLaren a fright during the year. But both of the teams seem to be in very good shape for the start of the year.

"BMW, I think, have had a difficult introduction but they seem to have got it pretty well sorted now and I think they will be quick.

"Red Bull seems quite good, but they have been stuck in the garage a few times. Renault have made some positive noises and I am sure they will be better than last year but you don't get the impression they will be challenging Ferrari and McLaren."

Head reckons that it is very hard to predict the current pecking order behind Ferrari and McLaren, although he is convinced Williams have taken a good step forward from last season.

"It is very difficult to judge exactly where we are because a few of the cars have done good runs," he explained. "A lot of people were saying that Toyota were right out of it and Ferrari were miles quicker, but the 1m20.8s that Jarno (Trulli) did at Barcelona is a pretty quick time.

"So I don't think we really know where we are really going to line up and that will only become clear when we get to Malaysia."

He added: "We know we've got a much better car than last year's car and a much more stable back end on it and things. But I think quite a number of teams have got improved cars."

Anyone posting any photos of it? I'm feeling a bit lazy now to do that after a day of school.

^ I'd still prefer the entirely dark blue car, but I like this too :)

^ That crazy font is their sponsor Hamley's Toy Store, not Williams choice
