2008 Supra

seems a lil bit too vulgar in my opinion... and too fat... and too tall... if it would pass me by, I probably wouldn't give a shit about it...

Regardless, if it is the Supra or a Lexus product Toyota needs a sports car to defend their honor.
How many boring Camrys, Corrollas, and Sienna minivans can they make putting everyone to sleep.
Even Honda will revise the NSX with a V-10

I stumbled across some photoshops of the new Supra, if any of you are interested :)

All of those look quite nice. This could inject something interesting into the Toyota brand.

They are saying there could be a spider along with the hardtop and that a V6 model (using Toyota/Lexus awesome 3.5L) will accompany a V8.

I like this last one, specially the side and rear shapes. Somehow, I could look at it and say: 'It's a Supra!' . Perhaps the tail lights , with the 4 circles , was the decisive factor for that. Anyway, is there any info on how that V8 would be?

I like the front of this last one, looks a lot like the 2000GT

I think the rumored engine in the next Supra is a 5L direct injection V8 that will first appear in the Lexus IS-F

The black drawing has a V8 Vantage flavor to it, which is nice.

Toyota has said there will not be a Supra successor AT ALL. this subject has been discussed millions of times on many different sites. that pic of the Japanese article is from 3 yrs ago.

my Streetfire counterparts can back me up on this. there have been many threads discussing the future of the Supra (4 of which made by the same member). all of which we have shown that Toyota has denied plans for a Supra successor.

ALTHOUGH, Toyota has said there will be a 350z competitor that will have a 325hp hybrid V6. there have been rumours about this also as to what it will be called. the Supra name DID come up. but again, Toyota denied that also.

also, Toyota/Lexus will be unveiling their whole F-line. their new performance division. one of their cars will be the IS-F. an IS-series with a 5.0L V8 (bored out 4.6L from the LS460) making 400+hp. Toyota/Lexus also said there will be a super exotic unveiled (Lexus LF-A/H maybe?)

I can totally see where people see a bit of the Peugeot in the grill shape, but the rest of the car to me is pure Ferrari 599 GTB. (okay, it doesn't have the flying C pillars, but those are incredibly subtle and when you aren't looking at the car itself almost impossible to see).

That looks fantastic - I love the 2000GT bits - I love the idea of a new Toyota sports car (finally) - I would be SERIOUSLY excited if they made this.

I see I'm not the only one...

Would prefer if the new Toyota supercar, whatever it'll be called, would look like this. Then again this is Toyota, so it'll probably look like the Camry Coupe, but with the front clip of a Yaris, and the back end of a Prius. About the only thing that won't be boring will be the V-8, but they'll probably find a way to make that a snore as well...

Awesome just what I always dreamed of owning, an ecologically sound v6 hybrid sports car.....

Who gives a crap what the exterior looks like. Is this new Supra going to have an F1-inspired bulletproof motor like the 2JZ in the old ones??? That's got to be the biggest selling point of those cars...

did u just skip the whole thread and just post? read the whole thread.

THE SUPRA WILL NOT BE PRODUCED! TOYOTA SCRAPPED PLANS TO EVER PRODUCE IT!

less competition to GT-R then, when it's arch rival is buried for good. :tease:

When will the japanese build a proper supercar? Something to rival the likes of the ccx and the Zonda F??
