2010 Formula 1 Season - Official Discussion Thread

I went on the internet and I found this:

http://cliptheapex.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=822

I know you have to register there, but it's worth it.
You can find there very detailed f1 overtaking statistics from years 1983-2010.
Also there are links to other threads with even more detailed 2010 statistics and analyses.

examples:

(charts doesn't include Brazil and Abu Dhabi, table doesn't include Abu Dhabi)

2010 season doesn't have all final stats, but probably they will be updated soon.

So there goes the myth that Hamilton is the most overtaky of the field hm?

Just joking everyone take it lightly....

or it proves that ferrari sucks at making tactical decisions ;)

(most of alonso's manouvres are for positions 13-17, and massa is 2nd on the table...)

EDIT: and it proves that sutil knows how to turn a wheel!!!

Hamilton's overtaking has been at the sharp end of the field, not the back. If you look at overtaking for positions in the top 10, then he is by far in front of everyone else.

Heads might roll at Ferrari, according to the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport:

If a head will roll at Maranello for Ferrari's 2010 championship loss, it will be Chris Dyer's, according to press speculation.

"Some things will change and, sure, some heads will roll," said the authoritative Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The newspaper did not name Dyer - Ferrari's chief track engineer - but some Spanish sources did, claiming it was the Australian's decision to "cover" Mark Webber's Abu Dhabi race strategy that stranded Fernando Alonso behind Vitaly Petrov.

Then, Lauda is at it again...
"There should be three days of mourning, then they all eat spaghetti again and forget the defeat."

Those are fantasitc. Really shows how Vettel just popped himself in there at the end. Also shows what a fantastic season it's been...

Found in another forum what the points would be like under the old points system:
Vettel - 104
Alonso - 101
Hamilton - 100
Webber - 97
Button - 87
Massa - 57
Kubica - 55
Rosberg - 52
Schumacher - 23
Sutil - 15
Barrichello - 15
Kobayashi - 9
Petrov - 9
Hulkenberg - 6
Liuzzi - 5
De la Rosa - 2
Buemi - 1
Heidfeld - 1

Red Bull 201
McLaren 187
Ferrari 158
Mercedes 75
Renault 64
Force India 20
Williams 21
Sauber 12
Toro Rosso 1

Don't really see the point of this new system other than confuse us.

Disappointed for Webber but he never came to the party in the last few races of the season.

Great season though, one of the best in recent memory.

but obviously personally biased as all these lists are.

Yeah, some guy from BBC (IIRC) made his and first four was:

1. Alonso
2. Hamilton
3. Vettel
4. Kubica

The same 4 drivers generally considered as the best but in different order.

In the meantime, on twitter:

IamLewis4real (ie said:
To those of u who care, thanks for ur support, am on here for u. To all u haters...I jus don't give a fuck haha

Yes. That's actually Lewis.

Account Verification. :p L_Hamilton or something, I dunno. Calling yourself IamLewis4real would suggest you aren't, and it's also a bit boastful in an odd way.

When I say "a little bit of my respect", I do mean a little bit. I still like him and all.

I guess they did do their math right and the new system rewards race wins more than consistency.
