The 276bhp Seat Leon ST Cupra has been revealed, and will be going on sale in the UK this spring.

The fastest version of the Seat Leon is now available across all three body styles, with the estate, or ST, the third to be offered as a Cupra model.

It gets the same upgrades to equipment and the powerful engine as the three-door and five-door hatchback Cupra models and is due to arrive in UK dealers from March.

There is only the one version of the ST Cupra, though. While the hatchback Cupras are offered with a choice of two power outputs, the ST comes in the more powerful form only.

This means it gets a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 276bhp, as well as 258lb ft of torque. Performance figures have yet to be confirmed, but it is likely to offer a similar level of acceleration and top speed to the five-door model.

This means it would manage a 0-62mph time that is marginally slower than the hatch's 5.8sec and a limited top speed of 155mph. It is also likely to offer a similar level of economy to the hatchback, which emits 154g/km and has an average fuel economy of 42.8mpg.

Although final spec is yet to be confirmed, the ST will come with the same level of equipment as the other Cupras in the Leon range, along with a series of visual and handling-related upgrades. Dynamic Chassis Control, high-performance brakes, a front differential, DAB digital radio, sat-nav, a black rear spoiler and auto lights and wipers will all be standard.

Pricing will be confirmed before it goes on sale, but the ST Cupra is likely to command the same premium over the equivalent hatch as other ST models, so it will cost around ?1000 more than the five-door Cupra, starting at about ?29,000.

There will also be the option of a dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which will add ?1320 to the price, while a ?2025 performance pack, which brings bigger Brembo brakes, side skirts and larger 19-inch alloys, will also be offered.

Theres something off about the lower rear bumper, but other than that is a really handsome wagon.

Edgy (well, as in lots of sharp creases)! Let's hope the interior isn't as drab as it usually is.
