Rumors have been circulating for a while about a purist, back-to-basics 911. Something like a GT3 with even less comforts, no wing, and manual gearbox only. This will not likely be like the Cayman R or the GT4 or anything like that, it will be more akin to the limited specials like the Sport Classic and Speedster This might be it:
No wing, but a rear diffuser to make up for some of the lost downforce I guess. It's also reported to have the same 3,8-liter 9000 rpm F6 as the GT3, but with a manual transmission and somewhat skinnier tires. According to rumors it will be named 911R, a hommage to the 1967 original.
