Finally. I do agree with Hamilton though, a VSC made more sense to keep the tyres warmer. The SC couldn't go quick enough for F1 standards
They needed to have marshalls actually be on track and clean carbon fiber, including pieces IN the track. With a VSC, you have cars going through any point at all times, even if its at lower speeds, enough to cause accidents. With the real SC, you have a clean track to work for around 1 to 3 minutes, then all the cars come around, then you get another working window again.

Fine, then how come they can clean an entire Monaco with stricken cars everywhere in 3 minutes flat, and it takes half an hour to pick up 3 little carbon bits in Baku?

Perhaps the experience of said marshalls? Monaco is the oldest track on the calendar and Baku one of the newest. Who knows.

this sucks!
if they just had shut up after the race, all would've been fine
but they kept making a fuss about it, how this was unacceptable, and more punishment was needed
and now they've let him off...for the second time!

someone at the FIA is keeping a hand over Vettel's head...

Everyone is biased, that's all. Personally, I'm glad they didn't take any further action, as it would upset the championship. Vettel may have a lead, but he's still the underdog imo. Mercedes has the dominate car yet again and Vettel is probably not going to be able to hang on unless Mercedes experiences more bad luck.
