First off, I'd like to acknowledge the hulking elephant in the room. I posted in the thread for it, but me wanting to post about my new toy is how I found out about Viper007Bond's passing. ?
Love that that man is the reason I can be here to share this. HATE that he won't get to share in our new automotive joys—at least here. I know he's whoopin' and hollerin' with his V10 somewhere, right about now.
With that being said...
I originally came in here to post about my new (to me) B8.5 Audi S5, but since the Durango I bought new last year was parked right behind it, I figured I might as well.
So let's start with the 'Rango:
She's in sore need of a wash. Hasn't been washed since our last rain a few days ago:
You can kind of see the Audi lurking right in front of it. Here she is (I deeply apologize for the sorry state of my garage ?):
For proof, here is the same sheet of paper I used with the Durango:
I was actually looking at a newer RS5 before I got the S5. Besides the fact that I had shitty help from the place that had the RS5, I am simply just a manual guy. This was the one and only stickshift 3.0 TFSI in my whole state, and I had to jump on it (they had older, stickshift S5's but the V8 ones). It had to be the V6 supercharged since they're SO much easier to get up to the power of the RS5.
As a matter of fact, the Chipwerke piggyback tuner I ordered is set to be delivered in the next hour or so.
For those wondering about the black car next to it, I originally posted about it years ago here: https://forums.finalgear.com/threads/my-2009-rx-8-r3.53841/
Here's how she looks now, under the sun:
And here are my two favorite children side-by-side (again, sorry for the garage):
And the all-black cars thing? A TOTAL coincidence! Seriously.
I mean, I guess I'm drawn to them, and maybe the Durango wasn't such a coincidence, but it was what they had at the lot at the time, and I didn't ask if they had any other colors. The Audi? I'd have bought the only manual SC S5 I could find when I was looking if it was some other (normal) color. What's funny is, my Mazda's color is listed as Brilliant Black...and so is the Audi's.
