I had a work trip to Miami to do some work at the Roger Dubuis booth at the 2019 Watches and Wonders show over this last weekend. During the event the Miami Concours also took place, and I was able to spend a bit of time walking through on Sunday morning, so here are some pictures of some of the cars there. Since I'm lazy I can't be bothered to do post processing, so there will basically be straight out of my phone, apologies for that.
First thing's first, driving to the event on Friday morning I about had a crisis in my pants.
Just casually parked on the street. I thought the silver car was an Aston initially as I spent about .34 seconds looking at it before being completely distracted by the delicious and gorgeous Miura, but upon review I now see it's another Lamborghini
The Miura is probably the most beautiful car ever produced as far as I'm concerned, and to stumble across one like this was not something I was prepared for. Much drool was had.
I've arrived:
Initially on display in the little courtyard:
Unfortunately I apparently forgot to get pictures of the Testarossa. Oh well.
The LM002 was also a treat to see.
In my booth for the weekend was a lovely Aventador S, as Roger Dubuis has partnered with Lamborghini to produce several watches with design elements inspired by the road cars as well as sponsoring them in some racing series.
After we ended the event the first night I went out for a bit of a walk around the Design District and found some more cars out for show. First was a Dino.
And then cue another crisis in my pants.
Just parked there. No ropes. And then I notice it's a different Miura than the first one (which had a brown interior and different Bertone badging).
There was much oogling. And I had to resist the urge to lick it. Just some light caressing had to do. This was now the second Miura I'd seen that day.
While I was struggling to hold myself together looking at this car I ran into one of the guys who was there helping organize the Lamborghinis for the show in partnership with Lamborghini Miami and The Curated Collection. We were able to chat for a bit about the car. Unfortunately I don't have the roughly $1.5M to bring it home, so I'll just continue to have a Miura shaped hole in garage.
