I love the SHO engine, but I'd go for the Super Gasket Blaster.

Nice! The 89 Thunderbird SC (in that same color) was the first car that I drove a lot after I got my license.
It wasn't mine, it was owned by the dad of a friend (who also happened to be my landlord).
I used to chauffeur my friend, his brother and his dad around all the time.
Not bad at all for a first car. :)

I lol-ed at the last sentence - that Ford will sell more SC's than SHO's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think exactly the opposite happened.

damn, i love the SHO engine. what a work of art

It sounds great too.

A family-friend of ours used to own a 2nd gen SHO. Was a beauty.

I was looking for an 89-93 Thunderbird SC when I ended up buying my Mark VIII. It seemed like the SCs I found were either beaten on, half way across the country or in the hands of someone who wanted a lot more than I was willing to pay.

I found one today with 80,000 miles for 2500 obo, in mint shape.

I wish I had the means to switch cars right now.

As I recall, the SHO was the only of the two that came with a Real Man's Transmission (TM), so that'll be the one :p

Too bad it was sourced out of an Escort The clutches on those regularly go out. Thankfully those engines mount to a Ford T5 bell housing without modification ...

I learned to drive stick on a SHO just like this one. I also owned a regular Taurus, it was simultaneously the best and worst car i've ever owned.
