Yay the thread's here.
Another 8/10 episode. I still see absolutely no reason why anyone should claim Top Gear's had its day.
Really nice Aussie trip, although Australia seems to deserve a special on its own.
Lovely views and filming but that's always the case.
Again, very little technical commentary but we've gotten used to that!
I absolutely adore K. Sutherland, having just watched ALL of "24" in 1 month and 10days. Comes across as an incredibly nice lad and the interview felt like a filler and was a bit rushed as MWF already pointed out.
However, I've got two important points I'd like to make :
I'll start with the positive one.
1) This episode felt like it had tons of unscripted moments, and that was a wonderful thing to watch unfold. I'm extremely happy they've grown out of the need to TRY and make us laugh on every single scene, and having to deal with cringe complaints later. Guys, it doesn't have to make us laugh to be interesting, and I don't have to be laughing 100% of the time to enjoy your work.
2) I don't know about you hardcore fans out there, but what was James thinking saying that "nerdy" stuff about the GTR for the THIRD time in TG history (Hermetically sealed lab etc). It makes me feel rather left out when they do that, because that sort of commentary is targetted at people who don't really know what's been going on in (at least) the last 15 series of the show. It also reflects somewhat poorly on the presenters' involvement in the show's content. Or maybe I'm just fangirling and it's completely fine. Either way it made me frown.
Anyhow, the ambulance segment, yeah ... Probably a bad one but let's hope it's OK like the airport vehicles segment was.
Edit : Some poor music choices here and there ... Please Top Gear, don't let that happen again.
