My phone is waterproof.
This could be a great episode
Bloody Mrs Windsor
I'm not gonna lie, my HP would die on the boat before it got there.
ERM, so the Anglia is terrible?
Fuck me, Aussie Stig was brave.
The dust inside the cars :lmao:
I know I haven't seen it before... But I felt like I've seen it before.

The show and the relationship between the presenters is as crisp as ever even after 22 seasons, enjoyed the discussion at the end, the australia segment was very good, 180kph on that dirt track is nuts though. Good mix of car & cinematography porn and faffing about, laughed at the sarcasm on the number plates :D I felt it could even have been a little longer, I would have rather watched clarkson go on about some birds than the 24 person in a reasonably priced car. Still 9/10.

Decent episode. However, I can't help but feel slightly disappointed. I felt the editing and sound choice was a little sloppy at time (for instance, why was the road train bit even there. And why was the camera helicopter so obviously included in to the shot?). I also felt that it lacked a little zest (I didn't find myself laughing at much and the scenery was boring for me as I live in Australia and have seen it before) and, this may seem odd, was a little long. I'd have preferred they did the news and then shortened the Aussie film a little to spend more time making sure what they did include was all solid. I imagined them doing this film in three parts like in series 20, episode 3 and series 19, episode 2 but they sort of got carried away with this one. Anyway, it was still a good episode, with (as usual) brilliant cinematography, and some excellent cars. I also thought Kiefer Sutherland was one of their better guests. A commendable 8 out of 10. Looking forward to next week's ambulance show.

great episode. i agree with lolno in some points, the road train was a bit pointless, and i would've loved some news. but on the other hand, why cut down the aussie bit, which was brilliant... i haven't even seen 24, but SIARPC was ratherr enjoyable, although i felt the interview was a little hurried and jumped around topics a little too much. still, a very solid 9/10 from me, i'll definitely watch it again very soon.

Solid 8/10. The interview was disjointed and I felt a bit short changed but the visuals were superb, the race out of the mine looked like huge fun (very jealous) and it seems they even took the herding semi-seriously rather than act like useless knobs.

Not looking forward to the ambulance thing next weekend as I expect an utter cringe fest but if that's the only one we will be subjected to this series then I suppose it won't be too bad.

And good review in the Telegraph which ain't bad considering it's basically the Waily Fail for people who can construct coherent sentences.

I really like this episode and the number plate bit was great.

Really didn't care for the SIARPC this week and I missed the news bit sadly, but it was a solid episode with not much doing stupid stuff because they are stupid, it felt quite honest and real.

I missed the news, to be sure, and I'm not a huge fan of Sutherland (although, some of this stories were funny and I didn't hate the segment). Loved the Australia segments, loved the arguing between Hammond & May at the end...it's been a long time since I've enjoyed an episode this much. Gave it a 10 on impulse, probably should have been a 9.25-9.5...but we'll go with 10.

Yay the thread's here.

Another 8/10 episode. I still see absolutely no reason why anyone should claim Top Gear's had its day.
Really nice Aussie trip, although Australia seems to deserve a special on its own.
Lovely views and filming but that's always the case.
Again, very little technical commentary but we've gotten used to that!
I absolutely adore K. Sutherland, having just watched ALL of "24" in 1 month and 10days. Comes across as an incredibly nice lad and the interview felt like a filler and was a bit rushed as MWF already pointed out.

However, I've got two important points I'd like to make :
I'll start with the positive one.
1) This episode felt like it had tons of unscripted moments, and that was a wonderful thing to watch unfold. I'm extremely happy they've grown out of the need to TRY and make us laugh on every single scene, and having to deal with cringe complaints later. Guys, it doesn't have to make us laugh to be interesting, and I don't have to be laughing 100% of the time to enjoy your work.

2) I don't know about you hardcore fans out there, but what was James thinking saying that "nerdy" stuff about the GTR for the THIRD time in TG history (Hermetically sealed lab etc). It makes me feel rather left out when they do that, because that sort of commentary is targetted at people who don't really know what's been going on in (at least) the last 15 series of the show. It also reflects somewhat poorly on the presenters' involvement in the show's content. Or maybe I'm just fangirling and it's completely fine. Either way it made me frown.

Anyhow, the ambulance segment, yeah ... Probably a bad one but let's hope it's OK like the airport vehicles segment was.

Edit : Some poor music choices here and there ... Please Top Gear, don't let that happen again.

For some reason, this episode felt so long yet at the same time, with so little content. I felt like they did absolutely nothing with the place, with the cars and with the time. The only exciting thing in the whole episode was their laps.

Also, some jokes really need to be retired. Such as Jeremy being a dumb ape, James swapping places with Stig or James mixing up Austria and Australia. Let it go! And that arguing at the end of the episode... was cringeworthy.

6/10

Another enjoyable episode, even if something didn't feel quite right. I think it would have been better if it had been a bit longer. By trying to cram so much into 60 minutes, it just felt off. But still good. I didn't care for the Stig in the trunk bit, but otherwise, the hill climb race was epic. I admit I did miss the news. Kiefer was wonderful. I forget how funny he can be. His Charlie Sheen horse stories were hilarious.

Lovely ep. I always like to see a car out of its comfort zone, and the chemistry between the 3 is as good as ever :)

Bonus points for numberplate trolling :D

Loved the Australia bit, fun to see them use properly nice cars for what they usually do with their cheap car challenges.

I liked the episode, but they missed a few opportunities. If they really wanted to test out the durability of those cars, they should have taken them on some of the Northern Territory's corrugated roads.

They could also have taken the time to travel further and do the mine race in the Kalgoorlie Super Pit in Western Australia....

....and done their cattle mustering on Anna Creek Station (almost 6 million acres) in South Australia.

I didn't find the number plate thing all that funny. I understood that they were making fun of what happened in Argentina, but the idea of Australian republicans being offended by number plates just seemed ridiculous. They could have shown up with plates saying "God save the Queen" and nobody would give a fuck. Also, they should never have driven on those roads in the Territory at night. It is just asking to be killed by hitting a kangaroo on the road. Any farm or home they came across would have put them up for the night rather than let them drive on in the dark.

Otherwise, it wasn't a bad episode. Seeing the Maloo hooning around the mine was a little bittersweet. They didn't mention it on the show, but the Aussie ute's days are numbered. In a few years we won't be making them any more after Holden and Ford shut down their manufacturing operations.

I liked very much this episode. I've never been to Australia, so it was very usefull to see something different that Sydney or Melbourne.

I liked the number plate bit, very funny, and they make up their point. Nobody gives a fuck about a number plate that you can imagine it can be ofending (except, of course, in Argentina).

I liked they didn't do any silly transformation to the cars, and they didn't give each other silly present to carry on them. Just 3 nice cars out of their confort zone, and that was good. Overall 8/10

Cheers.

For me a solid 9 out of 10, beautiful scenery, amazing cars and a little cocking about especially with the number plates.

I hope you all noticed this week's Chilean reference - Alexis Sanchez on the table with the electronics.

The problem with your other locations is that they are too far away. Darwin to Kalgoorie is what, 3,500km by road? That's far too distant. Part of the problem with doing a special in Australia is that the scale is just too big in most areas of the country.

Nevertheless, it was a pretty good episode. It maybe felt a bit disjointed, but the film was entertaining and mercifully lacked the worst of the scripted humour, and Kiefer as the SIARPC was pretty good. 8/10.

Well it was an ok episode. Nissan and Bentley(colour was horrible) were kinda cool, but didnt like the Beemer very much.

Maloo was really fast on that track! Only lost 4 seconds to GTR.

Two consecutive episodes with almost ZERO stupidity. This must be record for the modern Top Gear era. And it was a great episode, where they really did focus on the cars. The banter felt normal. Combine that with the road trip, and it was epic. Not perfect. But bloody great. 8.5 or 9 out of 10, depending on how I feel at any given moment.

Also, "you plum sack" :lmao:
