What is the present maximum download speed available over 3G mobile-phone networks using W-CDMA technology, such as the one operated by Hutchison Telecommunications?

thanks guys

nvm found it, its 2Mbps.

anyways, anyone using 3G here? or we all on 2.5 still

i am personally using a SE T610. used to think it was the best thing made... \now realised its a POS and can take photos of n e thing 5 meters away or across the road

was consdering 3g... but then decided that the phones availiabe are just too big and ugly.

using a motorola v600 at the moment

Just bought Nokia's 6600. Would have payed 2 times for 3G phone, without achieving much at all. With bandwidth prices of 1.5e/1Mb, I would spend all my money on it :) GPRS is pretty much enough for text-browsing, IRC, ICQ and other simple stuff.

Of course if you wanna use it as gate to internet with laptop for example.. That's a different story. Still too expensive to use.

I think Wi-Fi is the way to go, 3G is not supported yet here, and if it were I still won't pay money for it :)
Unfortunately we don't have that much hot spots for wi-fi here but I'm sure it will slowly catch up
And yeah the SE T610 has an amazingly lame camera... has other glitches in the software too.
Last year I was working on implementing vodafone live! service here in Egypt (u'll have heard about it if u have vodafone operator in ur country) the major advantage I had is having all mobiles while still in "beta" stages at my disposal, so I played a lot with all handsets before they were even available as we used to get "Acceptance Testing Samples" and "Engineering Samples", was kinda cool but wore off quickly :)

yea... 3g phones are just big and ugly... currently using SE K700i... thinking about changing to the SE S700
