I watched this last night on the Discovery Channel and thought it was great. would everyone agree with their decision to name the mclaren f1 the greatest car?

I think it'll always be the ultimate exotic. It sounds and still looks fantastic. Over ten years after its release and new cars like the Koenigsegg and Zonda are still judged by how they compare to the McLaren.

lol - you truly are not a real car enthusiast if you do not know the E-Type Jag - even my mum knows the e-type!

no. greatest car is my car - 1986 Toyota Corolla GT or the 'hachi-roku' in Japan. cheap, light, RWD!! so much fun...

I had one and the rear axle rusted off and when I hit the gas at a (now green) light it just twisted out

Mental picture - shabby Toyleta, engine revs, blue smoke out the back, kindof a tearing sound, clunk - then nothing :|

You might be watching a bit too much initial D.

Tiff is in love with the McLaren F1. The only flaws I see is that a normal person can't ever buy one and it's ride is too soft. It's soft because it's a proper road car and not a hardcore track car! (Buy a top model Ferrari if you want that.)

I have a Japanese video of the F1. The owner explains in detail the technical details of the car. You'd be amazed at the level of attention that car received! There are so many things on that car that you would be blown away. Little curves and angles on the car has technical significance. There won't be another car like the McLaren F1 for a long time.
