I was just wondering if someone saw what TG's opinion was on the Peugeot 607 or alternatively what does everyone else think?

I seem to recall Richard saying he liked it and Jeremy agreeing with him. This was during one of thier conversations in the studio and not a review, I don't know if they've tested it and filmed a segment on it.

Well, this is odd. They said they liked it on the show, but it says NO WAY on the webpage...

They dont have too much to do with the webpage sometimes its like its its own Top Gear. its. The first thing i'd noticed was the they had the Ford GT in sub zero when it was still super uncool.

Oh, and :welcome:

When did they say it was good? Wasn't this the most economical car? And won the title because it was so awful no one would ever drive it?

Also the bit they did in the news on one of the recent shows, they only mentioned that it is awful, and moved on...

It's the most sedate, sanitized car in its segment. Makes you wanna stab your own eyes out in boredom.

MHO: Great price/performance.

607 was a great car when it came to the market, but it has probably been in production for a bit too long (which is a common problem among the french big cars).

As Dr. Woo pointed out, it's not sth you'd look twice on the road, but I believe that when compared to certain German counterparts from that period it has much more presence.

My advice: go for the HDi if you can't afford the V6.

Personally I was going for the black v6 because this car's interior is just so much sexier compared to a benz or a bavaria. However I dont want a diesel, so I guess im stuck with manual transmission.

Or I could go for a hummer instead ;/

607 imho is a great car. especially when you take into consideration the price. i've driven one, and been driven in one on the back seat. v6 is the way to go, because the car is quite massive, the other engines seem to lack power. it is very VERY comfortable, lots of legroom at the back (im 1.9m tall, and had pleanty of space), you can get a lot of gizmos and stuff if you are keen on extras. but as dj said, it maybe has been in production for a bit too long and now it looks a bit less competitive, but when it came out it was truly awesome (and still is). its much more rare and elegant than the german alternatives (which offer the same, but cost 5times more  ). and personally i still prefer it to the german alternatives that are overpriced like hell...

you wont regret it if you go for it ;)
