Saturday 6th of August @ 7pm GMT 0:00 S2 FULL VERSION

Normal Racing:7PM GTM+00

League: 8PM GTM+00

Car: RB4 GT // GT-T // FX-O
Track: South City Classic
Laps: 25
Time: 25mins (avg laptime 0.55)
Starts: 8pm GMT +00

General Rules
  • You can only join if you are a serious racer. We are here for fun and we don't need childish wreckers.
  • You need a legal copy of the game. Demo will do for the first couple of races, almost everyone has the full version already. Later on we will be playing the full version online.^
  • If you keep fucking up the race, like forgetting to brake in every corner or anything like that. I'll kick your butt ;-)
Racing Rules
  • If you want to overtake the car in front of you, honk the horn once.
  • If you are being overtaken, go to the either side of the track. just don't be in the way.
  • If you want to let the person behind you know he can overtake you, use the double turn-signal and go to either side of the track.
If you don't have turn-signals mapped, do it.
  • If you see a person behind you that is faster and wants to overtake, let him. Don't ignore him and think you can be faster.
Turn on the blinker and let him pass. You may even want to slow down a bit so you two won't end up in a corner side by side.
  • Don't use other people as a guide-rail in corners. If you can't keep up, don't ruin it for them.
  • If someone accidently hits you and you end up in the grass, don't plan on revenge. Nobody is out to kill your fun.
  • Overtaking in corners is a thing you should decide for yourself, as long as you don't violate rule number 5 it's fine.
Slower cars can take the corner wide so faster people can overtake on the inner side.
  • No alcohol is allowed.
  • If you think these rules are too much, just use COMMON SENSE.
  • Have fun!

nice!

people few changes in the above post so read it ;)

we can start warm up in regular schedule time, but to give a bit more sleeping time for the far east guys, we start the test legue ~1h after warm up.

Its a test league, to see how thisng work out etc. Nevertheless we will count points for the sake of challenge :)

Total races: 4 (check official league thread)

Points:
Modified F1 system
1st place: 10points
2nd: 8
3rd: 6
4th:5
5th:4
6th:3
7th:2
8th and EVERYONE that takes part: 1point

Rules: check guidlins in the lfs league thread! (they are a bit harsh, but just use commonsense ;) )

change of plans:

the race is not fixed to rb4 only, but you can chose any car fro class 2, which means:

!!! GT Turbo - FXO - RB4 !!!

they all run nearly identical, drive whatever suits you most ;)

edit: the rar only contains RB4 setups and replays.

For the rest of the cars get the setups off teaminferno.hu and replays off lfsworld!

espn asked me a good question. should we do compulsory pits for the "tes-league" or no? tires for this distance at this track should last, without any problems, so theoretically we wouldnt have to pit (well, maybe mxm would have to :p )

Once the real league sarts, races will be a bit longer, so even if you dont want to pit, your tires will definitely wear out.

I say, in the test league we do ONE COMPULSORY pit stop, just to get an even better "simulation" of the real league once it starts.

i hope you guys are practicing for the south city classic ;)

dont come racing with "i wont race", "i dont know the track", "does anyone have a setup", "which gear do i go in the chicane" and kindergarden stuff like that :D

btw, this track should be familiar to most poeple since we raced a lot of mrt5 races there in s1 ;)

just do a few laps with the car/setup of your choice (fxo, turbo, rb4) to see how it handles, and maybe watch a replay :)

A tip : The fxo is faster (by about 0.5 to 1 second a lap compared to the rb4), but it is harder to correct mistakes with it while in the chicane (and elsewhere).
So IMHO, unless you're a robot, I think the rb4 is a better choice for endurance than the fxo.
(FYI, I haven't tried the GT Turbo yet.)

WR's

GT Turbo- 0:51.68
RB4 - 0:51.66
FXO - 0:51.08

I only drove the rb4 so far, dunno why, but the more i drive that lately the more i fall in love with that car :)

I had the sam ethought for the fxo though, most times if you make a mistake it either understeers or kick the tail out suddenly. On southc ity there isnt much room for correction in case you make a mistake, so i think im gonna go for th rb4.

Will try out the fxo though ;)

Just drove the XRT, and it's fast.
I've gotten my best time with it out of all three cars (52.570), and the only car that I managed to get a split time of under 29 seconds (28.990).

However, it's a bit of a bitch to drive.
If you give it too much steering input or if you give too much throttle at the apex of at the the exit of the corner, it'll oversteer like a sob.
However, the corner entry is excellent (if you don't try to angle the car excessively).

I'm still sticking with the RB4 I think.

yeah, for "longer races" especially at this track probably the stable, but slightly slower, rb4 is a good choice. for normal tracks that have a bit off safety cushion (grass, sand) faster cars would be winners because you have some space for correcting erros, but with a track surrounded by walls, stable car rules

did a few hotlaps now, 53.1 or so with the rb4, low 1st split, 29.1x -29.2x

i just read an interesting idea that we could use in the league.

instead of one race, we do 2 races.

meaning, 1st qualify -> start according to qualifying position -> 1st race end results -> 2nd race: start in reverse order of the 1st race result. that way people who were unlucky/not so good in the 1st race, have a chance to also get some nice positions and points.

points will be awarded and counted for both races.

in this scenrario obviously the races will be shorter, so that total time wont take ages. say 2x 15-20min races.

Cant decide yet if this is a good idea or not, but i though i'd share :)

Its not that bad of a time for me, but I think ill wait until ive got my wheel

btw, people practice aslo * south city sprint 2 *
we did some racing with jos there lately, and its a lot of fun. it a very short track -> 40seconds or so, very twisty, no long straights whatsoever, very tight, nearly impossible to overtake ;)

already with 2 poeple its a lot of fun, the one in front can be 2-3seconds slower than you, you still wont be able to overtake him by regular means. you have to put some pressure, and hope to make your opponent run into a mistake. guaranteed lots of fun with 4+ people

one problem with the sprint tracks is there is NO pit, so if you crash or wanna refuel only way to do that is by pitting manuall shift+s which means you start the race from lap zero :?

so thats why we cant really have that track in the league, but since we are gonna do some random racing as well, i highly (and jos i believe too) recommend using this small twisy track
10laps = about 4-5minutes, so even if someone crashes there wont be any long waiting ;)

^Yeah this track is awesome! Expecially after I discovered my LFS is running slow (low Framerate) and therefor my racing wasn't so good lately, car responded about 2 weeks after I turned left with my mouse, so I'm back y'all

SC classic is pretty hard... did some racing last night and I didn't even get a clean lap ... will never to practice ALOT more if I want to keep up with you guys

just take the rb4, the relevant setup, and try not to crash ;)

overtaking is tough on all city tracks, so take a tight line, dont crash, and you'll be fine :)
