sounds like some wiring corroded and short circuited. i dont understand what those articles say ;)

^no you wouldn't since they'r danish, but other danes or norwegians or swedes might ;)

At the same time? It sounds like sabotage, if that's the case. With that said, a lot of A6s caught fire in the past, so it may be a wiring problem. Does it say if there's only one engine version or did that affect various models?

It says since february, so not at the same time. They don't know what's causing the problem yet and the only resemblance is that the cars are all about two years old. Citro?n have had the same problems, so maybe the problems lie in some of the parts they share with Peugot.

Ok, thanks. ;) I have to warn a friend of mine who has a 307. Well, his mother does.

^Yeah, it also says don't turn your back on the car if you have kids or animals in there or park in a garage or close to your house until they have found the source of the problem...

They found out that the fire was caused by a shortcircuit caused by corrosion. The reason it happend mainly to danish cars was the really wet weather and the use of salt on the roads.

Thanks for the info. I told him and he got scared... I can now give him some rest. Only tomorrow, let him sleep in doubt, today...

I've just sent him a SMS with "According to Automobiles Peugeot, the known cases have only happened to Peugeot 307 with 1.6 l and 2.0 l petrol engines manufactured before june 2003".

Just a little update.
Peugeot has desided to call all 307 in Denmark in for a check, that's about 24000.
So far only 3 or 4 out of 4000 has been classified as potentially dangerous.

I guess that's the only bit of thrill a 307 can give...

BTW, thanks for the update.
