It's probably time for an update here
Had the car up and running around the time i last updated. But the joy didn't last long
Didn't even get to finish mapping it before the turbo failed
So then i kinda lost my inspiration and just parked up the car for several months before i bothered with it again.
When it became summer I started to miss driving it so work began again
I got hold of another T3-turbo, from some Fiat, slightly bigger than the last one
And I have found several problems/possible reasons for the turbo failure :?
The first possible problem was that i didnt have any form of oilcooler. Something that any turbocar should have. So i have bought and mounted an oilcooler. Also bought an oiltempgauge just in case.
Second problem i found was that i had failed at understanding ignition settings
The ignition was stuck on 15? advance
Worked up a better understanding of how the ignition settings work and now have it working properly
Third problem. When changing turbo i found out that there was pieces of rubber in the oilfeedline, was using an old oilhose so it might be the hose disintegrating from the inside, wich probably restricted oilfeed to the turbo
I am currently changing both feed and return pipes to -AN hoses and connectors
Fourth and final problem was that one of the injectors wasn't opening properly. Not likely to have caused the turbofailure, but still a problem. New 80lb Siemens Deka injectors was sent by express mail from the U.S. on friday.
So that's how it is right now and hopefully i will have it running again next week
Oh and here is some images to make this post more interesting
