Todays ADSL technology is limited to "just" 8 mb (no?), but "ADSL 2+ vil offer up to 25 (!) mb.
I mean that this will open up unknown abilities for - for instance tv-services and Internet telecom.

Anyone know more about this?

Me excited :p

VDSL offers 52 Mbps down, and 16 Mbps up, over exsisting copper wire, but the distance thing is significant, 4,000 ft from the DSLAM. :)

Yes, i know more about this
In France, the first lines with ADSL2 were just opened 3 weeks before.
20MBPS down for 30? monthly.....

But the best place is Stockholm, (Sweden).
They have optical fiber with 1000MBPS down and 100MBPS up for 40? monthly.... :bangin:

1 friend lives in Stockholm, he explained me they don't use P2P. They share files from computer to computer directly

Yeah, Sweden has always been on top of the bandwidth thing.

they're also researching to provide internet access through the electricty net, there are allread plugs you can use at home to have, must be easy, no special cables needed and internet in all rooms of the house

... why wasn't this the standard from day one?

There are home network kits that work that way. But they're expensive and slow..

But we all know how fast things change.

For anyone living in Stockholm: would you mind if I ran a reeeeally long ethernet cable to your house?

I noticed today that my ISP upgraded my connection to 5mbit/down 60kilobytes/up

That's the good thing about competition. I've started with 2mbit two years ago and they seem to give me +1,5mbit each year. It's a shame though that the technical limit will be reached soon.

adsl2+ has been here finland about a year.
max isp rate is 24Mbit/1mbit 58?/month

they tried out some new internet in china and u can download a who dvd movie in less than 4 minutes! woogooo

I'm moving to Sweden :)
