Reckless driving and excess speed over posted speed limit...

Well long story...short...
My friend (GT Mustang) and I (350Z) decided to have a run then he got nailed by the cops, my girl passenger (we are all very good friends to begin with) and i thought f*ck we should go back and see what the f*ck happend since it was my idea to race... (BAD IDEA) Then the cop who pulled my friend over, nailed me for reckless driving... (Based on what ????)

Okay flames about my stupidity aside, can I goto court and plead NOT GUILTY on the basis of the cop is generalizing my car as a race car and completely deny the racing thing and plead that I was just driving by and got pulled for nothing?

*note* my speed was NOT even clocked!

:(

Did the cop see two cars racing by or just your friend's car racing by?
I dunno, i would still fight it. You'd be surpirsed at the ammount of dismissed cases there are in the states. Sometimes, you dont even have to show up and they dismiss it. Or the cop wont show up for the court date and dismiss it. Or the cop will forget what happened and then get the cars mixed up...which also would mean a dismiss. So just remember, no matter what, plead not guilty and fight it :D

It seems me too, if it's word against word, the cop will win... And how will you explain that you "just passed by" when your friend was speeding? I think going to court would only make it worse. But I'm belgian, our national sport is avoiding taxes instead of going to court so... ;)

Here in America, going to court for traffic citations means either a reductions in points or in fines.

I suggest pleading not guilty and have the points reduced.

he shut down after 80ish and i went on to about 115 topping out in 4th...
(i was trying to impress the girl i was with lol)
my car rips tarmac like nothing else and with these JIC coilovers it handles so awesome that its glued on the road ...

nice, good job :p... if he didn't clock you then he has nothing on you. Heck I was once speeding and an undercover cop saw me.. so he went behind me to clock me, have evidence that i was speeding, but by the time he was ebhind me i was back to my normal speed, he kept following me till i reached home and he got nothing on me :p Other friends had a similar incident they where doing 180km/h passed a cop.. he didn't clock them but he stopped them. when he stopped them he couldn't give them a ticket, based on what? they kept acting like assholes saying, they weren't speeding and show me my speed on your radar, that kind of shit so he let them go, but if he gave u a ticket, then I guess you could fight it, tell them i was not speeding, my girl can be a witness, shes afraid of speed blah blah.. get a cheap lawyer might help you if you might skrew up in court. oh and wear a nice suit and glasses when you go to court, works like a charm :p

Innocent until proven guilty my friend. If the cop didn't see you, he can't testify that he did in court.

1] you're a retard

2] hire a lawyer

3] you'll get off with a huge reduction if not completely if you hire a good lawyer

I suggest pleading not guilty and have the points reduced.
pleading guilty gets points reduced, pleading not guilty gets you a trial where you lose and take on full points or win and get no points. 9 times out of 10 the cop never shows and you get off.

Plead not guilty. The worst case scenario is you have to pay your fines and get your points deducted. Most of the time the cop won't show up to court (my friend was driving 200+km/h on city streets once, the cop was nearly killed by my friend failing to stop, but the cop didn't show up in court and my friend got away from paying the fine).
