Alfa Romeo 159 coming to the U.S?

Yeah, Dr. Who, I think it was, he made a thread in the OT section I believe, a while back. But it's been known for about 2 years now. They were set to enter in 2006, but since all that drama went down between FIAT and GM, then not sure when, if at all, they will enter into our market again. I really want them to come back, I've never had the chance to see one or drive one. I think they'd give the CamCord and Altima a run for their money, the reliability may be an issue, but it's nothing the warranty wouldn't cover :)

EDIT: I just read your linky, I sound like I just summarized it

Until I see an Alfa on this continent, I won't believe they are coming.

man, thats what a car should look like. ^ i've seen an ooold one a month ago.

Beautiful, beautiful cars...I wonder if they have the substance necessary to convert die-hard German car fans like myself? I'd love to drive one.

WTF???

No Alfa Romeo in North America? Why was it taken away and why hasn;t it been brought back!?!?!

Is the 166 still being produced...if it is, why dont they just replace it with this wonderfull thing??

Because Alfas have piss-poor reliability, and Americans don't take kindly to such things.

Like the article said...in 1995, Alfa sold 500 cars in North America. That's how many Toyota sells in two hours.

I saw a silver 2002 or 2001 Alfa 159 in Vancouver, Canada, they look great but there was only one of them.

ill definitely buy one when and if alfa starts selling them here they look KICK ASS !!

That's because they have less stuff to go wrong, no TC no ESP, just an engine, wheel and power windows and locks

But would I ever buy an American car? Not until they have the passion, quality (NOT reliability...there is a difference), and dynamics of a German car. Don't see it ever happening.

Yeah, I thought the CTS was good, and it is for here, but when compared to what's available in Europe, it's no contest. :)

To quote Bob Lutz:

"Today's CTS interior uses extremely expensive materials. They just wound up not looking that way."

Or feeling that way, or fitting that way, or comparing to what's available from any other car in its class...

The CTS's interior is just poor. Absolutely poor.
