Does anyone else think that policies demanding a certain amount/percentage of minority people to do a job is sending a backward message?
For example, the NFL is pushing for the team execs/coaches etc. to hire more black people, but there is no one demanding that the players be more white. Is it racist to say "black people are better players, maybe white people are better coaches..."?
Or in Canada, to be a firefighter, if you're a male minority you only have to complete the minimum requirements of a woman. Does anyone getting rescued from a fire care more about someone's colour than their skills?
