I thought this would be an interesting thread to start for us persons in the Americas. This Sunday our two greatest loves are on at about the same time. Football (The Super Bowl) and Top Gear.

What will you be watching?

The Colts getting their ass kicked.

Top Gear + Commercials from the Super Bowl. Who cares about the game.

i'm watching the superbowl... at least until I can get my hands on the new top gear, then i'm gonna watch that

It's too bad we won't get Top Gear until much AFTER the game is over. But if I could watch TG live I would.

I'll be watching real football. Spurs v Man U and then Top Gear on Sunday

Actually, I'll be watching the Super Bowl, and getting drunk with my friends while the episode is downloading. Then when the Bears lose, I'll stumble upstairs to my bedroom, flip open the file and laugh my ass off before I pass out...

Can anyone think of a better plan?

-Jeff

I find Aussie Rules irritating enough.. ;)

I'll watch both, but not both on Sunday.
My download of TG doesn't finish until Wednesday. :(

Canada is part of North America, so technically you might be an American. :p

North and South?

Evidently the schools in Canada are actually worse than those here in the US. At least we're taught that there's the continent of North America and a continent of South America.... :D

As I don't live in (any of the) Americas, I chose the last option. If I could see Top Gear live (which I can't :( ) and it was on at the same time as the World Cup final in (football/soccer) I would watch the world cup. Top Gear episodes can be downloaded and watched later, np. Maybe the comparison world cup - superbowl is a bit off, but it's the best I could do in an attempt to europeanize the question.

Both.

The super bowl doesn't really excite me unless one of my teams is playing.

And you can't call it the super bowl, it's "the big game".

Why would you people watch the commercials?
Or are they not the kind of commercials I am thinking of.

from what i understand, american football is 30 seconds of play then 3 mins doing some bullshit at the side lines. and aparntly its really comercialised(sp?) ie "This replay was brought to you buy gatoraide" so with all the breaks im guessing theres alot of commericials

PS. thats what i was told, i have no idea
