But he did make a statement.
If you'll excuse me, I'm off to find a topic about flying so i can tell everyone that the sky is blue.[/

So? The phrase is still correct. I am trying to get people to realize that companies like Holden and Opel are not separate and unconnected. They are all General Motors so in turn they are really all US brands. More than likely GM would like to eliminate all the names and just label everything "GM" but they can't due to local attachments to names. Ford does not have that problem though.
i have to be honest, "General Motors" is probably one of the worst names ever, im amazed the name alone didn't kill the company, don't get me wrong i like some of what GM companies have done over the years, but the name is rediculous, would you want to go to a pet store named "General Animals" ?
It is called "General Motors" because they used to make almost everything. Trains, planes, buses, appliances, etc.
What are you people talking about? The Aura is NOT a Vectra with Saturn badges. They ride on a somewhat related set of components, but the Aura is on a longer wheelbase, and shares much more with the Pontiac G6 and new Malibu that just debuted at Detroit than the European versions of that platform. The exteriors may look similar, but the platform, powertrains, and interiors are completely different. The next generation Vectra will be exactly the same as the next generation Aura, however.
I was literally 3 seconds away from mentioning that; if I hadn't gotten to page 2 then I would have felt like a dork. And my point is that it's tragically sad that the best car we can come up with in the States is so perfectly..."white good" by European standards.
Yes, but the Aura is basically a Vectra in a hat

In the future, yes. All Saturns starting with the new VUE/Antara will be almost identical. However, trust me on this, the current Aura and Vectra are NOT the same. Similar platforms, almost no other similarities. The next generation coming out in a year or two will be identical.Uhm...the Aura is precisely a Vectra with badges. Saturn is, per Bob Lutz, going to be American-built Opels. Other GM brands within the US will make changes as you've said, to some extent, but Saturn will be purely badge engineered.

Can I ask what your source is? All the press and GM seem to disagree with you.
