My computer cannot display anything after booting into Windows XP. The login window disappeared, but i can still log in. After that, the wallpaper is reduced to 16:9 mode, and all the desktop icons and the mouse are also disappeared. The only thing i can see is the start menu and the lower bar (sorry I don't know what it is called)
I'm now using safe mode with network. I'm now scanning with Spybot S&D and NOD32...
Spybot just told me there is only one threat (statcounter) but I don't think it is the culprit, please help!

ps. one random thought, could that be a bug of the graphics card driver (forceware 175.16)?

I second this. I checked your hijackthis log and there isn't really anything dangerous in there. Can't really say what the problem is without being at your computer, so I would back up all the important files (documents, music, videos, prawn) and then reformat your computer.

A fooked system can go back to its glory if its a mere virus. If it's a debilitating disease like the computer equivalent of lupus, then reformatting is best.

If only humans could reformat...

A preventative tip for the future: partition your hard drive into three or more partitions. One that is your system volume (for the operating system and applications), one to store your personal files, and a third to store backup images of the first partition.

Before you make system changes (installing new software, for example), make a system image backup. If the software b0rks or operating system, restoring your system to the state exactly previous of the installation is a matter of a few painless minutes.

Consider making a small investment in some system imaging software. I personally like TBU Image for Windows, but, if you're cheap, there's also DriveImage XML for free.

hell, this sucks, I thought it was just a graphic driver error...since I'm using the safe mode and everything is fine...
thx for the help, i'll see if i'd get a copy of windows XP from my dad
btw I've saved all of my personal files onto a separate disk

Well, if it is the graphic driver error then you can find it out quickly - just uninstall the drivers in safe mode. You can't do more harm which hasn't already been made. ;)
