Hey guys,

I just received my replacement 1TB drive from Samsung. Seems like this is a model from Korea, which I don't care about. All I'd like to know is, when it was produced. It seems like the sticker on it only has the info in Korean...:

It should be in the red marked area.

Anybody can help?
+1 for everybody!

Thx, Buba

I will give it a shot, but it is going to take me a while!

It's unfortunate that Samsung only has the old serial number codes on their website, otherwise it'd be easy to figure out. Call Samsung with the serial number, they'll tell you.

Also, worst serial-number-blurring job evar. ;)

Sorry this took me so long, I had a lot going on:

1. Device Name (Model Name): Hard Disk Drive
2. Certification Number [note, not literal translation but that is gist of what it says]
3. Company Receiving Certificate: Samsung Electronics Ltd.
4. Date of Manufacture [note, no date is given]
5. Company and Country of Origin: Samsung Electronics Ltd. / Republic of Korea

Thx for you effort... Hmm, seems like I gotta contact them to find out...

It looks like the date should be marked in that little chart, with the top line being the year and the bottom being the month.

The Googles say that the Koreans usually don't tick off the date boxes, but someone with the exact same HDD model/revision you have (sans comparing serial numbers) has a date code on theirs of 08.2008.
