To make a long story short, I never liked boats.

I mean, I always said to myself that if I was a billionnaire I wouldn't even want a yacht or anything.

But since I've seen the Wally 118, I fell in love. The wally 88 is very nice too. But OFCOURSE, it's only dreams here, but I do have a few questions.

I know the pricing of the 118, but anyone knows where to find the one of the 88?

What size of boat do you need to lose that sickening effect when not moving (boat being moved by waves) in a "normal" water?

How big does it need to be to think about crossing the Atlantic without trouble?

What kind of boat (size and engine, etc wise) is the maximum you can drive alone without the need for a crew

Can you stop that wherever you'd like? if you're in the middle of a very deep lake or sea, is the ancher long/strong enough?

Any other good companies makes boats like the Wallypower 118 and 88?

Thing is, I don't like small boats, cause they're too small and you feel too close to the water, and I wouldn't want anything bigger than the 118 either (anyway at 17 millions USD I can forget that!) so I guess I'll never own a boat... meh!

Just for sizes references, what size is that boat do you think? if you know the make/model it would be even better!

I took the pic so I saw how big it was... it's prolly way too big on the inside for what I'd need but well it's like the size I'd need to be confortable in it.

EDIT: damn now it looks small on pics, but IRL it was HUGE, esp compared to the other boats!

As you can see I'm a complete n00b about boats, let alone yachts

I'm not sure what you mean exactly, but the general rule is that the wider the boat, the more stable. So a long narrow boat is less comfy than a short wide one.

I think he means that it bounces on the waves. I think every boat bounces, depends on how heavy it is and how it 'cuts' through the waves.

yeah I'm talking about the bouncing thing...

esp when it's not moving, that's when it's annoying, especially if you want to eat/sleep in it

I figured he meant a boat that was standing still in the water..... and I think a wide boat is more comfy when the waves comes from the sides.

A heavier boat will also move slower I believe. It'll still rock, but it'll be nice and gentle I'd think.

Dude, the Wally 118 does 60knots and the Wally 88 does 70, that's fucking fast!

I think Viper was referring to the movement caused by the waves during standstill.

ewww that's horrible!

common!!! a couple of coats of white paint, maybe a red strip down the side and a big bore exhaust and that would be a water bound pimp palace ;) (sarcasm)

Yeah she's not pretty, but check out the spec's, 50+ crew cabins and room for 500+ passengers. 9000HP roll on roll off deck, hell you pull up to the marine in that beast the ladies will be all over you like that...

maybe not :(

Generally speaking the bigger the boat the more stable, assuming a decent hull design, and you arn't lieing beam (side) on to the waves. Whatever happens if it's rough weather you arn't gonna be sitting still. Boats like that arn't usually seen in anything above a small chop on the water anyway, bloody floating gin palaces :D

This is what you want. Severn Class RNLI lifeboat, pick one up in a few years when they start coming off service for a couple of hundred thousand I expect. Bargain.

Here's another one with a heli pad.

One with a smaller stylish boat on board.

And a good set. I had to crop out my friends in front of it, though. Will try to do a better job and I'll edit the post later.

And now, to keep the thread serious, a pic of ren leaving his boat

Sorry man, just had to do it. :tease:

and I don't want anything TOO big, and I simply HATE those white things, not stylish at all..

that's why I love the Wally!

i like to keep my feet (or wheels I guess) on dry ground when possible 8)

You won't find anything as good looking as that Wally, IMHO.
You can look at these, though.

Roberto Cavalli's yacht, in Saint Tropez

other nice ones there

And one not that big, probably the best looking there.
