Anyone play Richard Burns Rally yet?

I use a Logitech Formula Force wheel (the original), and I'm thinking about getting a Momo (also the original).

I have the original momo (the one with the red base) and also at a time had the new momo.....the old momo is many times better, and is possibly the best wheel i ever used

OMG, this game is SOOOO good now that I have a wheel! :D

This game would have to rank as the first proper rally sim out there. It makes all the other ones look like childs play.

BUT i would say dont get this unless you want a hardcore sim! And definitely dont get it unless you have a steering wheel. I have a logitech MOMO and its perfect for this game.

Definitely the best driving game of recent times.

Yeah, I'm really lovin' this game the more I play it. It is insanely hard at times tho IMO. :(

Give it a week or so, it'll get better.
Be sure to use left foot braking in just about every corner, especially when you start out.
Doesn't hurt to redo the rally school every once in a while.

I'm still workong on beating the rally school.

And yeah, thank god for independent axis support on the pedals! :D

OK guys, You guys have obviously never tried TOCA Race driver 2
http://www.codemasters.co.uk/tocaracedriver2/
I'm thinking that you probably never will mostly because you can't aquire a copy
It was released in North America back in April 2004 on PC-DVD with the Nastiest copy protection i've ever seen.
The Game KICKS ASS....check the link and see the cars and tracks that are available!!
I play it online every chance i get.
Oh, and forget the keyboard or gamepads....they just don't cut it in this sim.

I love their slogan "If you are a beginner, Begin somewhere else"

I am aquiring a copy of RBR so I can check it out....sounds cool

The demo?
You Judge a Sim by the demo
The code wasn't even finalized in the demo, setups were not available and you only got 3 tracks and 3 cars
You didn't even try it online with real competition did you :?:

Easy buddy, it's just my opinion.
But in my experience, between an early demo and release you can expect only so much improvement.
In this case it would have to be drastically different from the demo to the final for me to be satisfied with it.

Doing a bit thread necromancy here, sorry. Anyone here taking part in the online multiplayer tournaments of RBR?

The pluging and tourneys can be found here. Mostly theres only Chechs registered, and couple of us Finns trying to dent their dominance.

I playing in RBR and I love this game!
Asphalt tracks - that's my problem in game and it's really strange =(((

alright, it's been about a month since someone posted here....but I just now got around to trying this game and it's the best rally game I've ever played 8) I'm hooked on the demo.

The only problem is that it's kind of hard to "aquire" a copy of it now....wish I would of tried it a few months ago

gonna grab the demo and try it out, never played it before. should be fun now that im no longer forced to use a keyboard :)

After much more playing on the demo, this game rules. It takes some skill, unlike other rally games. The sound is fantastic and the environments are realistic, as is everything else in the game, especially the handling

crap  my 64mb ati aint enough for this. the background is jumping all over the place, and the game lags quite a lot. no matter what i did with the video settings it wont run properly :(

yeah, it is somewhat demanding, even on low settings. What card do you have? It seems to run ok with a 64 MB 9000 Pro on low settings.

64mb ati mobilty radeon 9000. i guess it could run on low settings if i had an up to date driver, but ati dont provide drivers for laptops, and laptop manufacturers (inculding mine) say check ati site for new drivers

i have a driver from 2003 which suxx but not much to do about it. there are actually 2 options which im afraid to use a lot of people seem to be getting problems with. omega drivers, and there's another one a guy makes (cant remember the name) which kinda transforms regular ati drivers onto laptop card.
