Anyone play Richard Burns Rally yet?

Omega drivers did it for my old laptop (same chip as you have). Of course, the chip has its limitations, but those drivers made it work a hell of a lot better than the oem drivers.

Been playing RBR some on the PS2, but in the end I couldn't stand the horrible graphics :(
It's one of the few rally games that was really playable with the d-pad, though I can imagine it would be great with a wheel. Had a really hard time with understeer (I thought understeer wasn't supposed to be much of a problem with WRC cars) and it helped getting me off the game as well...

Definitely the best handling rally game I've played, though the PS2 graphics were bloody awful. As with GT4 I was also hoping for a way to tune the cars more towards oversteer.

64mb ati mobilty radeon 9000. i guess it could run on low settings if i had an up to date driver, but ati dont provide drivers for laptops, and laptop manufacturers (inculding mine) say check ati site for new drivers

i have a driver from 2003 which suxx but not much to do about it. there are actually 2 options which im afraid to use a lot of people seem to be getting problems with. omega drivers, and there's another one a guy makes (cant remember the name) which kinda transforms regular ati drivers onto laptop card.

I would atleast try the omega driver. It's worth a shot and if it sucks worse, then just go with the older one, but I have a feeling it will be what you need.

i read a lot on forums quite a while ago about using alternative drivers and some people got quite some damage, so i was quite sceptical. i guess its not an issues with new drivers. will give a try though. have to take back my laptop after my exams, cos the screen's f****d up, if i close it and open it a get black screen, then i have to flip the crap out of it back and forth till it starts to flicker and till i get a picture. so i dont close it lately and keep it open in a position that works. so gonna try out those drivers, and in case sth goes horribly wrong i can use my guarantee :p

installed omega drivers, rbr runs perfectly

as for the game, im not really impressed after trying it out a bit :( i dont seem to get much feedback from the road, just the opposite of what everyone says the game is good at. i havent played rally games in ages, kinda got hooked to lfs the past year, so maybe i just need to play more rbr to get used to it and then it'll better. im not giving up though, will play it a bit more since everyone says its the most realistic rally game :)
