Omega drivers did it for my old laptop (same chip as you have). Of course, the chip has its limitations, but those drivers made it work a hell of a lot better than the oem drivers.
Been playing RBR some on the PS2, but in the end I couldn't stand the horrible graphics
It's one of the few rally games that was really playable with the d-pad, though I can imagine it would be great with a wheel. Had a really hard time with understeer (I thought understeer wasn't supposed to be much of a problem with WRC cars) and it helped getting me off the game as well...
Definitely the best handling rally game I've played, though the PS2 graphics were bloody awful. As with GT4 I was also hoping for a way to tune the cars more towards oversteer.
