so this is from the top of my memory, some shows that involved JC (but WEREN'T Top Gear). If anyone knows what I'm talking about, could you tell me the name of the shows so i could try and track them down? Thanks.
BTW sorry if the descriptions aren't accurate, I'm recalling stuff I've seen only once on TV years ago so it could be that my memory distorted things a little...
so here goes:
in one show JC goes to Saudi Arabia and shows how extravagant rich oil-exploiting sheiks are with cars. There was one arab guy who made a HUGE version of a famous 60's utility truck. It was ment as a tribute cause it's that particular model that was used in the region by most oil-hunters. The big version was as big as a house and actually had an engine so it could move around!! The dude also had a lot of other spec-made extravagant cars. One was shaped like a big globe if I remember correctly.
in another show (or was it just another episode of this particular show?) JC buys an old "retired" jet fighter and brings it home to put it in his front yard to be "a monument to speed". Just when the transport with the jet arrives, JC's wife comes and she's not very happy about it...
in another show, JC travels around Europe in an E Type and kinda makes fun of different cultures. I remember a particular episode where he goes to Germany and shows some Germans that gather to "laughing reunions": they basically gather and laugh for half an hour non stop. JC concludes something like "it's wrong to say that Germans never laugh. They can laugh, you just have to tell them when, where and for how long."
So do these ring a bell to anyone?
