Nah, it's fine that this gets it's own thread since he's actually posting pictures and it's not just a "bleh" car.

Anyway, sweet Elise.

I'm surprised the blue looks as good as it does.

I was thinking red or green would make a better colour on the Elise.

I see some Ford GT's on those pics *drool*

Sweet car you have there, I bet it can feel a bit intimidating inside with those big trucks around though?
I notice the indicators on the wheel arches.. are those added for the US spec Elise?

So were those pictures taken at the "Lucky Bastards Club" or something?

You lucky bastard. 8)

so hot, so hot.

Thx everybody

Yea, I fell in love with magentic blue when I first saw it and waived a couple times during the wait...leaned towards chrome orange or graphite grey (planned on powdercoating anything on that one black or carbon fibering it). I'm really glad I stuck with magentic blue thou.

This is my only car. She's my daily driver and honestly I don't think I could go back to driving anything else (well maybe a ferrari or noble). I drove my friends accord a few weeks ago and it and eye opening experience. When I first got in my inital thoughts were "wtf is with this seat...i'm actually sittin in it...like a chair...." then it was "wtf...why is the steering wheel so big...is this a bus...doh i'm gonna have to use hand over hand agian." Afterwards I also found the brakes to be very bad (they weren't bad, I'm just use to the elises brakes where I can i stop in about half the distance). Also taking my first right hand turn I swore I was going to roll the car. The body roll was scary! And I wasn't even trying to drive it fast. It was just my normal elise turning speed.

It's a federal elise so its the toyota motor, 2zz, same as in the celica gts expect it uses the euro tranmission which has a closer gear ratio and the ecu has been redone by lotus. Since its the fed elise it also has abs (well suppose to...I've hydroplanned the car a lil when it was really wet...so i'm not so sure bout abs...I knoe theres a light for it thou) and other wimpy safety devices like airbags...

The things on the wheel arcs are actually just reflectors and Lotus had to add them to get the car legalized here, kinda odd since they didn't have to add bumpers or headlights that meet DOT specifcations...

I haven't had the car on the track yet. I've autoxed it a couple times and I want to track it but the simple matter is that track days cost a pretty penny and I still need to pay off the car and haven't found the time with all my 2 jobs and being a full time student.

Yea its kinda intimadating driving next to all the trucks and SUVs that you knoe probably can't see you but u get use to it and make sure to stay out of their blind spots. You also get use to all the people taking pictures of you on the freeway. All the old people that think that Ford makes Lotus. All the people that think its a kit car. All the lil kids that knoe what the car is when their father doesn't cause it's in GT4. And the marriage proposals from people...

The pics were either taken at the Golden Gate Lotus Clubs meets or Ferrari Chat's Sac Area Exotic Car meet up...

The exotic meet up had three 360s, 2 Ford GTs, 2 911 turbos, a v8 twin turbo esprit, a viper and a couple other cars...

...!

You're a student and you run an Elise?!

I can't run a 1980s Vauxhall Nova on my student allowance...

Anywho, awesome car. I well and truly want one.

nice color... You in socal or norcal? I wish my blue wasnt as dark sometimes.

its not nrealy as scary as riding a motorcycle next to the trucks

yah after test driving a lotus elise everything i've been in feels soft =[

re teh bumpers - they had a special waiver for that and
according to some posts if u hit ANYTHING with them u're screwed
there will be a TON of damage as there aren't any 5mph impact
regulations on them

considering that he said "Golden Gate Lotus Clubs" and that theres trees in the pics, its not anywhere near here in L.A. ;)

You're in just the right area to drive that, lots of nice corners and winding roads. If you're ever in socal, let me know, I'd love to get a closer look at it :D
I know what it's like to drive something so small, especially surrounded by raised trucks, can't see anything!
I guess my MR2 is the small retarded cousin of your Elise, since lotus designed both and they both run toyota engines. yours just has a "tiny bit" more power and actual power steering...

i say :woot:

edit: the side markers are required in the US and Canada while Euro spec cars do not need them. US/Can cars also need amber lenses on turn signals and Euro mostly use clear lenses and amber bulbs
